That was my temperature this morning upon waking, Ruby standing over me with a worried look on her face. Body aches, fever, tossing and turning all night…it sure felt like COVID. Tracy and I had it before, in the summer of 2021, so you would think we’d know it when we saw it…or sweated through it.
But a quick trip to the family doctor (whose office is at the end of our block here in this very small town), a couple of swabs for Omicron and flu (who knew they can test you for flu now, with results in 30 minutes – not me) and they both came back negative.
Temperature is back down, but so am I, flat on my back the rest of the day, Ruby and Tracy hovering over me protectively. Another test the doctor gave me will come back tomorrow, but until then, it’s a mystery what has knocked me out like this.
Not to worry: I have the best caretakers in the whole world, and I just know I’ll be back on the case in a day or so.
Virtual chicken soup.
Lucian-this is happening a lot lately, and to me last week. Great article in NY Times about all the people who, like us, had shots and boosters, and are getting relatively mild doses of Covid or whatever that aren’t registering on the Covid tests. Just a thought to keep in mind. I am your age and so far have avoided Covid, but think I am just in the middle of a, happily, token case. Feel better.
