'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even Lucian’s mouse;
The stockings were hung on the banister with care,
In hopes that a Christmas column would be there;
The children were nestled with their cellphones upstairs
While visions of Daddy’s ham danced in their heads,
And Tracy and Lucian wrapped presents around the table,
With Scotch tape and ribbon as best they were able;
When in his notifications there arose such a clatter,
He sprang to his phone to see what was the matter.
Away from his column he flew like a flash,
Tore open his email with fingers a-dash
When what to his wondering eyes did appear,
But a half-dozen new scandals through which to steer!
After a peruse through the Times here,
And a journey through the WaPo there,
More rapid than Google his columns did come!
He whistled and shouted having lots of fun,
Sent them off to subscribers until he was done;
With hope for a future that won’t come undone
And victory next year, for Dems a homerun!
Love this and love you brother! Merry Christmas!
And remembering Daddy reading the Night Before Christmas! ❤️
What a perfect revision of the old standby. Wonderful picture of the festive tree with the animals walking around. Enjoy the day before you saddle up for whatever is coming.
