I am from Massachusetts - Mark Milley represents the best of us. I love his comment to Matt Gaetz who was denigrating West Point about the Academy teaching a class on “White rage.” Milley said, “I’d like to take that class - and I’m White and I want to understand White rage.” That shut down Gaetz pretty quickly.

In the olden days, about half of the legislative branch had served in uniform...today's situation provides us with Gaetz, Empty Greene, Tuberville and Boburger...

Milley is one of the great Americans of our time. Trump is the worst American of ALL TIME. Words are no longer adequate to express my loathing. Only guttural shrieks and roars can begin to approach the outermost reaches of my hatred.

Glad to see someone else with my same intensity of hatred toward t-Rump! I, too, believe t-Rump is the absolutely WORST American who ever lived. No one person-- no official of the Confederacy, not that traitorous general, Robert E. Lee, not Pres. Andrew Jackson, none of our serial killers or mass murderers, no mafiosi, no Kleagles of the KKK, and not the Koch brothers and their kind, not even Rupert Murdoch-- NONE of them have done as much damage as t-Rump has, and none are composed of such absolute, pure EVIL, with not a single redeeming trait.

Compared to the heat of my hatred, the sun is a cold dead star. Compared to the depths of my detestation, the Marianas Trench is a sidewalk crack. Compared to the enormity of my enmity, Mount Everest is a dust mote. He is the very worst creature this country has ever vomited up. I live for the vibration of my phone alerting me to his decades-overdue death.

AMEN!

How about his spending the rest of his life in prison? That could be worse than death.

Much as I want him to suffer, I’d be happier if he was just gone and we could all have back that brain real estate he stole.

Analogous to the Wicked Witch of the West, who physically melted when water was thrown on her, Defendant Trump has a mental and emotional melt down when confronted by people of integrity, honor and dedication to duty.

Thank you General Milley for your loyal service to our Constitution and Country.

Gen. Milley has qualities the Orange Dumpster will never have: physical & moral courage, integrity, honor, patriotism, commitment, and the willingness to do the right thing, no matter the potential consequences.

It must eat him alive to see people who are so successful and respected and who DIDN'T act like a total scumbag their entire lives

He is the product of everyone who ever laughed at his stupid jokes, or agreed with him when they thought he was a moron, or acted as though they admired him when they thought his lack of ethics, was a gross embarrassment. How can he not know that people suck-up to him. or, he probably does know, and likes it. He used to really piss me off, then I realized how much I pity him.

I think it's confessional that one of his favorite put-downs is, "sad." That's what he is, because nothing can satisfy his longing for adulation.

Lucian. I would recommend every American who has the slightest interest in national security read The Atlantic article. It clearly demonstrates why one Donald Trump must never be allowed into the same zip code of the Oval Office, the launch codes and the National Security apparatus.

The article makes it clear Milley and other national command authorities had to dance around and do unnecessary and counterproductive work arounds to counter Trump's ignorance, vanity and downright meanness. It was not only the Joint Chiefs who stood in the way of a fascist government it was other military who were serving Trump in the White House who , likewise, played defense around he clock.

One part of the Atlantic article caught my particular attention because it "featured" some of the behaviors of one Stephen Miller whom Milley referred to as "Rasputin," He was one of Trump's closest advisors who conjured up some of the most inhumane treatment of those refugees at the border. he was not alone but Trump listened to him a lot including at the end as to what to do when the election was lost. IMHO he has so far skated his culpability as a Himmler to Trump.

Great analogy. An evil malcontent with influence. A disgraceful cabal which is a national shame. :(

Expand full comment

I agree--Miller, that zombified vampire, is definitely an 'evilness whisperer'.

Sadly, most Americans do not regard the military very highly. They don't have to serve, (being all volunteer) so they don't develop the mindset that any military person has or those who have lived in the Fortress for any length of time.

Lucien knows for a fact what I'm talking about. You never, ever outgrow the thinking the military has (even when you've been a civilian all your life) and when someone like Trump shows up every single fiber in your body just shrieks 'Traitor!'.

it's been hell for all of us brats, serving or retired military (with rare exceptions). Trump has made us angry and heartsick at his words and deeds. He is everything that is wrong in our society wrapped up into a meatspace of nutbag. He's worthless and that he was actually in the WH? That was a goddamn travesty.

There's nothing better that we'd like to do than to see that sack of human waste put into prison to rot for the rest of his life because he has shame our country so badly that it physically hurts to listen to his shit.

Hopefully he will be convicted and put away where we will never have to listen to his drivel again, but if there was an option for a firing squad, I'm afraid that a lot of us would be cheering for it.

Stephen Miller is a pariah and an embarrassment to us Jews! The crimes he has committed is reminiscent of what happened to Blacks in slavery and to Jews resulting in the Holocaust. The fact that he has a wife who he procreated with to have an Aryan baby, is abhorrent. He reminds me of Adolf Eichmann and he looks like him too. My prayers will be answered if Jack Smith brings him down along with our 21st Century Hitler.

An addendum - I subscribe to The Atlantic, and the Jeff Goldberg article is EXCELLENT! If you can get a copy of it, read it! My father was 30 years in the US Army - active duty from 1942 to 1952, reserves until 1972 - retired as a LTC - Army JAG. Worked as a lawyer (personnel attorney) for the DoD from 1952 until 1977. Buried in Arlington National Cemetery. When he was on active duty he heard cases all over the country. As kids my brothers and I lived and breathed Army. And like Mark Milley, my father was a tough Irish kid from the anthracite coal mine region of NE PA who found his salvation in the US Army (except Milley is a tough Irish ice hockey-playing kid from MA).

I'll never understand why any veteran or female can support this pig of a "man", Trump.

Expand full comment

It's not that hard to understand: racism + the mind-boggling reach of the right-wing disinformation machine. It's true, however: I struggle to understand why a majority of white women vote Republican, in large part because I don't want to believe that patriarchy is that deeply embedded in any woman's being.

In 2012 the racist comments about Obama were too gross. I called out the racists and was considered a jerk. I addressed everyone in the bar, and then told them that I quit. That latent racism cost Hillary the Electoral College. In rural areas the rednecks thrive.

The only thing I miss is the Post had all the NFL games and lots of screens. Cheap drinks was up there, too.

Especially since he called those who lost their lives in combat as “losers and suckers.”

Every single insult he flings at others applies more properly to himself. The louder he brays some vile insult toward someone of clear and outstanding virtue and courage like General Milley, the harder tRump is trying to push away the knowledge of an ugly truth about himself. He is a perfect demonstration of how projection works, and the vicious, malignant coping mechanisms run him utterly and completely.

You just insulted all pigs. Trump is like the Ebola virus: of almost no substance, yet invades and kills its hosts in agonizing ways, spreads easily via social contacts, capable of decimating entire populations, and by the time its victims are infected it’s too late to save them without immediate and extraordinary interventions not available in any rural area.

It would be poetic justice if Trump ends up at dawn before a firing squad.

It would not be possible to agree with you more Lucian. We are so lucky to have had such an honorable man serving as our chairman of the joint chiefs. I would be so proud to be able to shake his hand. He exemplifies everything we would want to see in a leader. Like all of us he's not perfect, but he's working on it like many of us. Can you imagine how sickening it must have been to see the POS that was our insipid commander in chief on a daily basis, I hate seeing his mug on TV, I can't fathom what it would be like to be in the same room with him and the stench that must ooze from every pore of his being. General Mark Milley is a true American hero.
