The Supreme Court is out with the results of its “investigation” into who leaked the Alito/Dobbs opinion. It will surprise absolutely no one that the court which undertakes to be the final arbiter of the law showed itself to be beyond the reach of the law when its report failed to find the perpetrator who broke the law in leaking the opinion that overturned Roe v Wade.
Everyone who works at the Supreme Court, with the exception of the Justices, was interviewed under oath and made to sign a sworn statement that their statements to the court investigators was true. Every laptop at the court being used by employees of the Supreme Court was seized, with the exception of those belonging to and/or used by the Justices. “Some” personal electronic communications devices such as cell phones belonging to court employees were seized and examined, but not those belonging to the Justices.
Everyone employed at the Supreme Court, including the Justices, was absolved of leaking the decision.
No persons not employed at the court were interviewed in the investigation, including spouses of the Justices, their significant others, family members or friends.
Ginni Thomas, who has led a life-long crusade against abortion, was among those not interviewed by the court’s investigators.
This just in. A correction was issued saying the Justices were interviewed...however, the interviewer, the Court's Marshal, is not an investigator. She's more like an executive housekeeper for the building - including the matter of parking cars. Justice Roberts, said to be smarting from the Court's fall in public approbation, really laid an egg with this maneuver.
Strange Justice: The Selling of Clarence Thomas
by Jane Mayer and Jill Abramson
Of course this despicable man married a horrible woman! Who else would?
Just read this old book. He never should have been seated. Decades later we
are still paying the price of the Senate's ineptitude.
