In the original from which this is so brilliantly excerpted, I hope people noticed the eruption of fundamentalist religious fanaticism in her exchange with Mark Meadows--his reference to the "King of Kings," etc. For the past 40 years I have been warning that Christian fundamentalism is the greatest danger to democracy that this country faces. It's a lot more true today than it was 40 years ago, when it's now routinely espoused and expressed by people in (or near) the highest positions of power, and not merely by a few religious freaks ranting on the lunatic fringe.
