Well, I finally got off what passes for my ass (not visible in this photograph taken by the estimable artist Tracy Harris, who is also by the grace of the Gods, my wife) and started a podcast. It’s called “Lucian Truscott’s Podcast” and I’ll be doing one about as often as I post columns. The first one, posted this afternoon, which all of you should have in your inboxes by now, is free to all subscribers. But in the main, the podcast will be a benefit available only to paid subscribers.
My next podcast will be a reading of my Village Voice story about the night the Fillmore East closed. It’s called “Leon Russell in the Dark,” and if I do say so myself, it’s a classic. So buy a subscription if you want to hear the story of the night I carried a stoned Leon onto the stage at the Fillmore East and plonked him down at his piano as owner Bill Graham looked on from the wings.
I don't know. Substack said something about Apple, but I don't have an Apple, so I couldn't tell you. They're on my Substack, however.
I love that you started this podcast, and I’m so happy that it’s included with my subscription. It was easy to find on the Substack app so hopefully it will continue that way. I loved to hear about your predicament with an out of it Leon Russell. I was cracking up. Great photo and nice to hear your voice. Rock on!
