It's wonderful to have this encouraging news, Lucian. Pamper yourselves to let your bodies heal. Rest. More rest. We will carry on while you and Tracy recuperate!

What a huge relief to hear from you. I feel such joy knowing the crisis is behind youthough you both need to take it slow. We need just short health bulletins. Politics can wait. Just a bit of positive reframing: January 20 is Martin Luther King day. Let’s celebrate that giant among us and forget about what’s happening in Washington.

I am so glad you are better. Take it easy and be kind to your bodies. This flu strain knocked the wind out of you and it will take some time to get your strength back. Probably nothing you don’t already know but the nurse in me can’t help myself. 🩷

This nurse's order is "What Karen said." You are one tough soldier! At ease this week, and maybe next if you need it.

take all the time you need for both of you to heal. one of the harshest lessons i learned in my musical career was that every single person who ever said "the show must go on" to me was far more concerned with their share of the box office than my well being. don't feel under obligation to us to rush things. we have four more years of this to deal with. no need to hurry things.

i am 83 my wife 82. our doctor makes sure we are up to date on the many flu variant immunizations . One problem with growing older is with each passing yerar you begin to think you are if not invisible than one of the "lucky ones. There is no such thing as luck; only prepaadeness and self protection which is available.

Thanks for the reminder that temporary wellness is just that. We're vulnerable, as mortals, to the slings and arrows of microbes, toxins, and whatever assholes happen to be in charge of our fates, in Washington. Here's hoping you return to robust health for your own sake, and to help afflict the assholes, as you do so very well.

I'm so glad you have the strength to write. I think of you as an uncle and right now I'm crying as you are my best living tie to my father. Sending much love to you and Tracy. What a fucking week, man. Xoxo

I am glad you are home. You know when I was recovering from cancer TakeThemAMeal saved us. Even though too far to bring homemade, could contribute meals to help you and Tracy. It must be so very hard on you both. You might want to set service up and local friends can bring meals while out-of-staters can arrange restaurant meals even from the platform. https://takethemameal.com/

Thank you so much for the update. I am glad you got effective treatment. The care of yourself and each other, as you have taken care of this community (and others, I'm sure) with your writing. Stay safe, stay sane, and thank your wife for me.
