It’s a bill for all. Watching McConnell kinda made me laugh because he is now a desperate man. The corporations he spoke about as to staying out of politics are the very same corporations whose CEOs were more than willing to help finance Citizens United. McConnell is grasping at straws and honestly, it is a pleasure to watch.
Such an excellent recounting of the WPA. I never knew the extent they went beyond bridges and roads..into varied public buildings and utilities, and supporting activitied. WPA along with the CCC added a lot to this country and employed a lot of people when times were very tough.
It's too bad now that Biden's efforts are just mostly having to play catch up by repairing a lot of that infrastructure. My hope is that the next emphasis by far-seeing people will be directed to more broadband connectitivity, renewable energy, electric vehicles, improved highspeed transit, and too fill the needed spots to build and operate all this and more, free or subsidized technical education.
We need all this now, and as fast as possible. Some pundits are forecasting a potential loss of the House next election.
Morons like my Congressman Greg Steube, FL-17, who is a Big Lie supporter and one of the 12 who refused to award Capitol Police for their action against the insurrectionists, won last time with 65% of the vote.
Biden needs to show results as fast as possible to prevent this cancer from growing.
The bill should pass one way or another. It was reported today that the parliamentarian has approved another reconciliation act that President Biden can use if he needs to.
Yes! Art, Reforestation, road works, jobs—even electricity and phone lines! I never could understand how REPUGS of upstate New York (and other rural areas) could so quickly forget or be so ungrateful toward infrastructure programs. People like Mitch McConnell only serve themselves—and boy, has he ever found public office to be lucrative.
Thank you for this. I live in TVA country. Blue Ridge Parkway country. Great Smoky Mountains
National Park country. There's a road at the upper end our valley known as the CC road, because there was a CCC camp located there. I live within a massive public works project.
Thank you for enlightening readers about the WPA. Giant City Lodge state park as well as one of my high school gymnasiums were WPA projects. Both are still serving the people of Southern Illinois today. Several members of our families worked on WPA projects which helped support those families. Biden's program will do the same.
