CNN is reporting tonight that several members of congress accused of collaborating with the criminals who launched the attack on the Capitol on 1/6 have lobbied Trump for “preemptive” pardons that would protect them from prosecution for their role in the attempted coup.
Paul Gosar of Arizona, Mo Brooks of Alabama, and Andy Biggs of Arizona, all Republicans natch, have all been accused of giving help to Ali Alexander, one of the organizers of the attack on the Capitol in the days before the coup. Newly elected Laura Boebert, Republican of Colorado, has been accused of tweeting the location of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi as the assault was underway. Several insurgents were heard on videos of the assault actively looking for Pelosi, asking where she was so they could kidnap her. Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R Qanon) was seen by several members of congress giving tours to visitors the day before the attack. Many of the visitors on her tour were dressed in the kinds of MAGA wear and camo gear seen on attackers inside the Capitol the following day.
White house insiders described “a frantic scramble happening behind the scenes” for last-minute pardons for Trump lackey Steve Bannon who is seeking a pardon for charges he is facing for defrauding people who donated to his “Build the Wall” charity. Bannon is accused of spending more than $1 million of the non-profit’s money on home improvements, luxury travel, restaurant meals and other personal expenses. Trump is said to be “going back and forth” on Bannon’s pardon, but is hesitant because of Bannon’s possible connection to leaders of the riot at the Capitol.
Also said to be worried about their legal exposure regarding the Capitol riot are Trump’s son, Don Jr., and his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, both of whom spoke at the rally before the riot and were seen backstage boogying and partying and screaming “Fight! Fight!” to the rally crowd. CNN is reporting that Trump has decided not to pardon either himself or his family members, or any of the members of Congress accused of involvement in the coup. Insiders described “a muted President, concerned about his pending impeachment trial and swirling legal problems,” according to CNN. “Trump is less worried about being barred from running from office again, and more concerned with the optics of being convicted by the Senate, people familiar with the matter said.”
But very worried about their chances of spending some quality time in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons are the quavering lickspittle cowards in the Coup Caucus. Trump has just over 12 more hours to make up his mind about pardons. I know some people who aren’t going to be getting much sleep tonight.
Bannon's goal, the deconstruction of the administrative state, gave us our Cabinet of Bozos.
Glad he fell from favor, Trump was only a few moves away from succeeding.
Lack of empathy for others and no personal integrity is what killed the beast.
They are waiting in Fort Worth to see if Joe Exotic gets pardoned. His limo is waiting according to the news.
