Planning for Biden's inauguration should be a national security emergency
Biden's transition should insist on taking over
Biden’s transition team should walk into the Department of Homeland Security at 8 a.m. Monday morning and demand to see Chad Wolf, the acting Secretary of the department. They should insist on a role in the preparation of security measures for President-elect Biden’s inauguration on January 20. They should insist on having transition members sitting at the table for all meetings between DHS people and their counterparts in the FBI, Department of Justice, Metropolitan Police, Capitol Police, National Guard, U.S. Marshals, Secret Security, and every other law enforcement group with a role in providing security on Inauguration Day.
Biden’s transition should assume from the outset that the Trump administration has no real interest in insuring that the inauguration of Trump’s rival is safe and successful. Biden’s transition should DEMAND that they are included in all the planning for security for the inauguration. They cannot trust that any part of Trump’s administration will do its job properly.
Security planning for the inauguration should be considered a national security emergency. Can you imagine what will happen on the dais on the Capitol steps if gunshots start going off during or before the ceremony? Bedlam. It must not be allowed to happen.
Amen
What is Wolf doing in the Mid East right now, anyway? Looking for real estate?
