President Biden should award the Medal of Freedom to Colin Kaepernick

The respect shown by Colin Kaepernick for the American flag and the National Anthem by taking a knee during its presentation before football games should be recognized. In light of the footage that came to light yesterday of a Trump terrorist beating a police officer with the staff of an American flag on the steps of the Capitol, Kaepernick’s respectful protest against police brutality in the name of Black Lives Matter should be rewarded by President Biden soon after he takes office.

Make the presentation in the Oval Office. Let the image of Kaepernick receiving the award rescue the Medal of Freedom from the disgrace of Donald Trump and the nest of deplorables to whom he awarded the distinguished medal.

Every major sports team should begin every game by taking a knee in recognition of Kaepernick’s patriotism and respect for the American flag.

Any Republican who dares to criticize Kaepernick from now on should be shunned into lonely disgrace. These unpatriotic fools should be locked in a room with a 60-inch flat screen playing the footage of the police officer being beaten with the American flag playing over and over on a loop for hours.

If Kaepernick isn’t hired by an NFL team as a quarterback or on a coaching staff, President Biden should establish a job for him in his administration as an ambassador for freedom and the flag and send him around to public schools and colleges as an example for the nation about what a patriot looks like.
