John Roberts is as much as TRAITOR as the Orange Idiot!!!

cal lash's avatar

John Roberts is a pansy narcissistic white Supremacist. He likely pisses his pants when Trump calls.

Doris Corea's avatar

You got that right!

Leslie Goodman-Malamuth's avatar

John Roberts smirked for the camera when Ghislaine put her arm around his neck in the armchair they shared.

Thank you for repeating this message. It is my fervent cause to protect our elections and get every person to vote. With the atrocities being committed by trump and his cabinet, the People will certainly vote for a change in 2026. He knows this, as do his co-conspirators, so it is imperative we do this. They will try mightily to retain power in any way they can, and we know they have no regard for the law. It is our duty to stop them.

Linda Weide's avatar

Those of us at Democrats Abroad and Indivisible Abroad are starting the get out the vote effort now. Everyone living abroad needs to register their abroad address each year in order to receive a ballot and to vote.

Project 2025. Spheres of influence. Oil. I fear for our military's well being and integrity.

I remember a slogan from the Vietnam era..."what if they held a war and no one showed up?"

Stewart Gooderman O.D.'s avatar

I remember when Bush was threatening to invade Iraq. One of my patients ask me, “Do you think we are going to war?” And I said, “Oh, I know we’re going to war. But they better find those weapons of mass destruction, otherwise there’s gonna be hell to pay.” Does today sound any different? To me it’s exactly the same thing. There’s no drugs. But there is oil and that’s what Trump wants to pay back to the oil companies for backing him. Remember EVERYTHING Trump does is transactional. EVERYTHING. You give to me, I give to you. It’s True Love, if you know Cole Porter’s song from the film High Society.

cal lash's avatar

It's always been about oil!

Joe Turner

cal lash's avatar

Trump is not George Bush.

Trump is a Psychopath.

Bush was a 98 IQ off road bicyclist bush whacher who didnt realize selling futures in empty Silos was a crime.

It's been about OIL since 1987.

cal lash's avatar

Actually since 1897

Six SCOTUS Justices need to placed on leave, without pay. The remaining three are quite capable to clean up the mess those six have created.

Congress has the Constitutional power to make that happen. Hopefully, the coming fall elections will send send us Congress Persons who know their duty and actually do it!

Henry Cohen's avatar

Seriously, Congress could impeach and convict them. If it doesn’t, then it might be able to place them on leave, but Article III, section 1 of the Constitution states that their compensation “shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office.”

William A Post's avatar

Impeachment is too uncertain and it takes too long. Even if we have to pay them while they are on leave, they will not get in the way of the three remaining judges.

Henry Cohen's avatar

I agree, but that won’t happen. It would be better for the Democrats to add four justices to have a 7 to 6 majority, but the Democrats won’t do that, because they are too conservative and cowardly.

The Democrats need to win the Senate, by the way, because doing so would prevent Thomas and Alito from retiring in 2028 to enable Trump to appoint young judges of their ilk. If Thomas and Alito stayed on, then they might die during a Democratic president’s term. Actually, I think that they would stay on in 2028, because their egos would prevent them from retiring, just like Ginsburg.

William A Post's avatar

Henry, I actually think those two in particular might be induced to resign if they were advised that hearings were imminent to investigate conspiracy to commit sedition to overthrow our government.

Henry Cohen's avatar

What's the evidence for that? Making the president above the law destroyed our democracy and violated the Constitution, but that's not quite the same as overthrowing the government. That's what he attempted on 1/6/21. An investigation of the gifts they accepted from parties with cases before the Court might work better.

William A Post's avatar

There is more than one way to overthrow our government. If the tenets of the Constitution are replaced with bogus baloney like unitary executive, then the basis of our democracy, that we the people govern, through our elected representatives in Congress is destroyed. What we have at present, is not a functioning democracy, and those six, more than any one else brought this about.

Kathy Hughes's avatar

It isn’t possible without significant reform to the current senate structure.

Kathy Hughes's avatar

It has failed us before, thanks to McConnell.

cal lash's avatar

You really think there's going to be another election?

Karen Simmons's avatar

If there isn’t we are done as a country.

celeste k.'s avatar

Hopefully, the American public will see this crisis for what it is, register if not already, and safeguard that registration. It really is up to us to get Congress right and make them do their job. In the meantime, get the current politicians to do everything they can to safeguard the elections. Call, write or show up on their doorstep...whatever it takes.

I watched this short clip this evening. It comes from your father's Department of War, just after WWII. It's hard to imagine what the current head of the Department of War (sic) would say.

Thank you for sharing this old reel from the U.S. Office of War, now the Department of Defense. The fascists are back. It's 1933 Germany once again, but there's a way out.

I woke up this morning at 8am. I did not know what happened until my 23 year old son told me at 9:30am. I was like: WTF! I’m worried that the 🍊🤡 and the rest of his goons are going to do the same thing to some of the other countries they have on their list. The 🍊blob is a cornered rat who is unhinged and very dangerous.

Ellen Franzen's avatar

We all know exactly how you feel.

That is a very good point: Also, didn't he just pardon another South American president who wasn't just accused of massive drug smuggling but tried and convicted.

I wonder how much his fee was for the pardon. Also, I thought he was concerned about the poisoning of America.

Dick Montagne's avatar

Central American Robert, who was convicted in our federal court system of helping smuggle over 400 tons of Cocaine, at 2000 lbs per ton that’s a lot of coke. He set him free, the “drug” boat killings have always been a Petey Boy masturbation exercise, although the clown in chief had to have given his ok, Petey Boy has his lips attached to the clown’s ass after all.

ROBERT EVANS's avatar

Thanks, Dick for the correction and the astonishing statistics. Also the funny comment re the clowns-in-waiting :) I wonder if, when Trump calls a Cabinet meeting his order reads "Send in the clowns"

Mary S.'s avatar

I believe it was a Honduran prez. tRump said he freed the guy because he had been treated so badly by the Biden justice system, just like himself, and the guys standing behind him at the press conference told him it was so. Wonder how much those guys made?

Donald is a tool!

Doris Corea's avatar

Oh yeah! Who’s got the bigger one!

Merrill's avatar

Here's my list of what motivated the crazy king to invade Venezuela and kidnap it's leader. Which seems right to you??

1. It's far from Epstein's criminal island

2. Oil, oil, oil, oil

3. Showing NY real estate moguls who is the BIGGEST & BEST of all

4. Stopping the flow of cocaine into the US.

5 Claiming the $50 million bounty on Maduro

6. Trump's Dr thought "Venezuela" was a new drug for congestive heart issues so he prescribed taking it

7. Venezuela is on Trump's bucket list of countries to take over

8. Melania didn't like the way Maduro's wife decorated for Christmas

9. Putin recommended it so he can take all of Ukraine

10. Trump had a lousy New Years Eve and needed a feel good project

Ellen Franzen's avatar

#s 5 and 6 catch my eye...

At some point we, collectively, will have moved past (through?) the “Donald Trump sez” experiment in American democracy, and onto the world where responsible adults are making the call. I look forward to working to get there.

cal lash's avatar

What world are you living in?

Karen Simmons's avatar

I need to feel some hope.

Doris Corea's avatar

Hope springs eternal!

Kent Anderson's avatar

Yet, he wants to arrest Biden. Ugh.

Carol-Ann Dearnaley's avatar

Guess there is only so much room in this particular life boat for those who traffic in calumny, grift, and basic low life lying and cheating - to say nothing of kidnapping and God know what else. So every once in a while one has to heave one of the other shipmates overboard to make room for someone more to the occupants' liking - or has something others covet.

As I have posted on many different occasions the doctrine (?) of the Unitary Executive in the hands of a bought and paid for Federalist Society Surpreme Court has done more damage to the United States and its people since Plessy v. Ferguson. More because the unitary executive gives the President universal power without constraint of any kind and impacts both domestic and foreign policy. It does , effectively, make a President King. Kings determine the law and who will be punished by it.

Melissa's avatar

none of this makes "sense" We are living in a nightmare where all rules and morals have been tossed out of the window.

Bruce Kopetz's avatar

Why do U.S. generals and admirals obey these illegal orders? It's time for these Annapolis and West Point grads to stand up for their constitutional oath.
