Orange County fairgrounds speedway was ablaze with racing tonight. With local fireworks in the background, the above photograph of big block modified race cars at speed was taken just a few minutes after a fox emerged from a break in the wall around the infield pits and trotted off down the front straightway.
The flagman threw a yellow, the safety trucks were called out, the fox was chased away, and the big blocks roared once more.
Fourth of July weekend doesn’t get much better than this, is all I can say.
Grew up there and it was always part of our lives.
Americana at its best – dirt track racing!
