Just three hours before Joe Biden took the oath of office on the steps of the active crime scene that is the United Sates Capitol this morning, Donald Trump departed for his home that is not really a home at Mar a Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.  We have spelunked our way down into the basement and-sub basement and sub-sub-basement, slogging through the flood of lies and unadulterated bullshit that has escaped Trump’s Whopper-hole of a suck-mouth, looking for what we have come to know as his bottom.  Yet even today our search remains in vain, because he once again exceeded expectations and went even lower in his farewell address at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, just outside the capital city.

Saying that he felt he had “laid a foundation” for the country, Trump bragged that “we have put it in a position like it has never been before,” giving that hackneyed phrase even less meaning than it had each time he deployed it 23,215 times over the last five years. 

“I will be watching and listening,” he promised his adoring crowd, which seemed to number only a few hundred.  “Have a good life,” he said with a dismissive wave of his tiny, gloved hand, and as unctuous and smug and oily as you would expect, the Swami of smarm descended the steps of the podium and a few moments later, he was away. 

If the Senate doesn't vote to forever ban this human slug from holding public office, he'll be back to slime us into new depths of human degradation and dishonor. I'm afraid we haven't seen the bottom yet, folks.  God help us.
