One of the Fox News Sunday shows quoted my column yesterday in an appearance by Rebekah Koffler, the author of “Putin’s Playbook” and a former Defense Intelligence Agency analyst.
Lucian and Greg Olear are nailing the crux and foundation of Trump’s character: it’s all about the money.
Where else out there do you see people identifying the heart and soul of the man?
When I have written here that both Lucian and Greg, my 2 favorite columnists, are beautifully right on target characterizing Trump, I am recognizing top quality analysis. And I am not alone: if you read replies here, you see constant praise and grateful appreciation.
The quality of Lucian’s analysis *absolutely* qualifies his work for wide consumption.
It’s a big month. Vulnerability accompanies turning points, so I am also not surprised that Lucian would have an emotional reaction in the same week that he gets large media exposure. These types of things tend to come in packs.
Speaking just for myself, there is no doubt in my mind that Lucian’s work merits regular inclusion out in the media industry at large. No question whatsoever.
Dubious honor being Fox but still an honor. So when will WashPo, NY Times or Guardian give you a richly deserved regular column. Being a professional opinion columnist myself (minor leagues), I consider you the gold standard in the commentary game, as good as if not bettter than commentariot's biggest names on a consistent basis. And since I am invariably correct....
Finally! A bit of truth on faux news! How shocking for the viewers, to be face to face with what IS. Congrats! Anytime anyone with accurate information, good analysis, honest perusal, and intelligence gets airtime on that network, it's a plus for America!
That is indeed astounding Lucian. Who would have thought you would be influencing FOX News! You are a one man army fighting in the war for our Democracy.
I loved Sen. Russia Ron Johnson saying with a straight face that he thought MAL was a pretty safe place. Loved is really the wrong word. It's terrifying that we have so many US Senators who are not really supporting our government. And who appear to be actively aiding our enemies.
The greatest and most meaningful abbreviation/acronym for the new place of Top Secrets: MAL. Think of every noun you can think of and put MAL in front of it. Instant condemnation.
The Murdochs are tip-toeing away from their old revenue engine. First WSJ, NY Post, now Fox News are pushing back against Trump.
You can count on a new spin of the Fox 2020 history, pushed by the Dominion suit. "Fox News showed that Biden had won way before the other news networks!" We'll soon see Arnon Mishkin (the leader of the data team that called Arizona for Biden) back on the air for the midterms.
The only thing that alarmed me about WSJ coverage is that recently it questioned how the docs actually were transported to Mar a Lago. Who took them from the "last days of Trump" and its ongoing "chaos?" (Their word.) Oh, it might have had nothing to do with Trump, who, after all, couldn't pick up the docs and carry them by hand? Or a plant from someone in the White House? Not bloody likely, I'd say. Trump could leave orders to transport them.
You nailed it - MONEY. He didn't run in 2016 to actually become president - he ran to increase his "brand" value. Trying to profit off purloined nuclear secrets would be just "one more thing".
He also used the threat of running for president to negotiate salary with The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice. That's according to my friend who was one of the producers of that fake and misleading show.
you may be the first to show Faux News cultists that their DearLeader emperor is wearing no clothes. i hope their eyes are opened and now start wondering about all the grifting money asks and hat and flag sales they see.
i hope you might cause them to start wondering about their DearLeader's cozy relationship with putin.
but too, within the disparate trump base of haters, i hope none turn their eyes upon you for disparaging their DearLeader
Love the thought (am terrified by the thought) of the short-fingered vulgarian flashing ten digits in response to putin's five, to signal the price (in billions) of the secrets on the table. putin is tiny, so his fingers probably come up short, as well.
This is right up there with knowing someone on Nixon's Enemies List. ;-)
At least 90% of the stuff I've read about the run-up to, execution of, and backwash from the Mar-a-Lago search is like cotton candy: mostly hot air with a little froth. Like earlier this afternoon the Twittersphere was hyperventilating about Trump's three confiscated passports. As of about an hour ago, every "legit" news story about it started with "Trump says . . ." No confirmation from the FBI or anyone else. But that doesn't stop the excited speculation about why the FBI wanted the passports (did it? does it even have them?) and why Trump had three of them, one of which (he says) was expired.
I can't wait for the 1/6 hearings to resume. Cotton candy they are not.
It looks like a bit of bet-hedging of Fox's part. They're not as stupid as Trump's base, but they are running a bit scared. They're smart enough to recognize that Trump's been seriously weakened, and that Republicans are now divided.
And folks may need to be reminded that, notwithstanding Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace's departures, Fox News does still like to pose as Serious vs the Murdochs' entertainment division shows.
Trump may well have photocopied many of the documents he illegally held onto for so long. I would not be surprised if this were true, given how diabolical this miscreant has always been. But how will investigators for the FBI or Justice ever prove it if it were true?
Does Trump know how to run a photocopier? If he does, would he deign to make his own copies? That suggests another way it might be found out: if his helper leaks or squeals or does one of those sneaky things. ;-)
I'm also doubting that Trump packed those boxes himself. I haven't read any reporting or speculating about this, but I'm very curious about who chose the materials to be packed up and who actually did the packing.
While l was impressed by your original suggestion of nuclear secrets being stored in the former President’s residence, it is probably in the back of many people’s minds. The fact that Fox featured it falls in line with their specialty of parlaying speculation.
Keep your hands clean and don’t be taken in by the Big Bad Wolves ripping off your content. Do you really want an offer from them?
They play dirty and we don’t stoop to peddling trash and branding it “Treasure “!
Remember Chris Wallace finally got disgusted and quit. Under no circumstances is Fox News Sunday to be considered a stepping stone. You’re an independent and not beholden to the Murdock Organization.
Am I surprised?
Not in the least.

Tell it, Brother Roland!
And my congratulations to you also, Lucian!

Spot on!

Mind you Koffler followed the quote up by saying that she doubted that Putin had received any of the documents but, yes!

Wow! It’s huge that Fox would quote you. And kind of shocking, too. Keep up the insightful reporting!
Nicole, I’ve been having Deep Throat moments since before last week. This just cements it for me. Follow the money!!

You should be a guest commentator on MSNBC, or any of the Networks!
Yes! And/or a guest on Deep State Radio, which is one of my favorite podcasts.

By finding a photo copy.

One woman’s opinion.
Benedict Donald. Say no more. Congrats on penetrating the Faux News bunker. 👍🏼
