There are now four times as many troops guarding the Capitol from Trump's insurgent army than there are in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

The Pentagon announced on November 17 that they would withdraw troops from Iraq and Afghanistan until there were about 2,500 troops in each place. That will be the count by January 15, according to the Pentagon.

There are now about 20,000 troops assigned to guard the Capitol and downtown Washington through the Inauguration of Joe Biden.
