Why does the richest nation in the earth find it necessary to concentrate 90% of our wealth in the top 10% of households and continually run a deficit to finance the other 90% with a bare minimum of spending on the "social programs" to aid and in some ways (SS and Medicare/Medicaid) a bare mimimum of support?
IMHO we are seeing an end time battle between what economic/political philosophy this nation can only operate under if it intends to avoid two sides, the haves and have nots end up ,yes, fighting (literally) for the spoils of what will be left if we continue reinvesting most of our national wealth in unfettered free market capitalism (and those who hold and control the capital) and some moderate form of, yes, democratic capitalism where the majority (by me ball park estimate 3/4 of the families in this nation) who will simply find "the American Dream" a true and valid myth.
What the Ds must do is find a message and messengers to make the case continuing to run massive deficits to finance an uber elite is a death sentence for the rest of us. Maybe the coming cuts in Medicaid and cuts to other agencies like the VA, etc. will impact enough of us to give the Ds some true actual case studies to use in messaging. But, if anyone expects wild vague messaging from the likes of AOC, Bernie, et al to do the job they do not understand marekting to the masses and basic communications strategy. The Ds need to both reach the "real Americans" MAGA has persuaded capitalism will make THEM rich and show them with real life/world testimonials as to what redistribution of wealth and cuts in basic Federal and state programs like WIC will produce. Use the right media to reach all the relevant demographic groups and, for God's sake, find some spokes people who speak the language of the street and not the poltical process.
This batle can be won over a couple election cycles but not until the D Party ges over is shell shock and realizes until you win back the working class doing good things for all the interest groups you want to help is going to be impossible. Working families who can barely make it simply don't find it a high priority to worry about causes and people they consider "fringe." Is that too self centered and interested? I was watching PBS news tonight and trump was taking questions from reporters at the NATO summit. A Ukrainian reporter asked him about helping Ukraine and she was barely holding back tears as her husband was in Ukraine and her children were in Poland. trump was completely gobsmacked when confronted by this reporter. Having to face a women whose life is upended not knowing if her husband is safe. Reality smacking him in the face because of his inaction to help. He was visibly shaken by the interaction.
He didn’t know what to say. He seemed surprised that war affected people such as this woman speaking to him. Other people’s troubles are an abstraction, but his troubles are the real ones.

Yes--not normal. And the use of the phrase "New Normal" has got to stop. Almost everything is abnormal. And everything the MAGA leaders (the Administration) say is calculated to twist reality---and/or make a threat. Lawsuits against judges is horrifying..........
Trumps reference to the United States bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima reminded me that while trying to prevent other country’s use of nuclear power we are the only country to have actually dropped Atomic bombs on another country.
He is insane. He will try to use the atom bomb on someone to stroke his ego. I hope and pray that he will be stopped, but you know he wants it.
