This is what happens when "you" (read: them) elect a (failed) businessman to run the country. The federal government is NOT a business - it's there to protect the democracy and the citizens who live in it (stating the obvious). But here we are, basically, a failing business, thanks to the felon puppet and, mainly, the puppet masters.

When the state religion is capitalism the myth is probably inevitable that the best leader must be a businessman and the best policies will express money upward for business wisemen to dribble down to the masses—unwashed because their water is foul.

The next people who run for office run on a platform of zero federal taxes and allow states to cover everything. It will be like the EU. Each state for themselves, but with some shared goals. States can collectively pay for their share of the military, and otherwise, it looks like there are not going to be federal services. Social security can be divided up by the states, and frankly people will be considering where they want to live very differently if there is no federal budget and the states pay for everything.
This way, we will not have the federal government collecting more from some states and giving to others. We can disband the Supreme Court too, because state courts will be where it is at. No more federal courts and Supreme court. That will save money. Then, states get to decide whether or not they want to have immigrants, they will be funding education and all services like SNAPP, medicaid and medicare and Social security. States can then charge more in taxes, and then people will get back what they get back.
Some states might join together and make pooled resources for disasters. Some states may need less. So, we will be the united states, but each have our own budgets.
States will. need a lot more people working for them as they manage functions that before where the purview of the federal government. Republicans should have no problem with this even when they live in poorer states, because they don't believe in federal government. Travel between states can be like in the EU, no barriers, unless there is a disagreement about who can travel.

I would never mention any crime, unconstitutional act, or horror that Trump inflicts on people without also mentioning the congressional Republicans.
