At nine this morning, there was not even an inch the ground where I am, about five miles north of Boston. By noon, we had about nine inches, by two about 15, and now, a little before five, we have about twenty, and more is coming down. This storm may over-perform.
So the weather service wasn't kidding or being alarmist. I hope you and Tracy and Ruby are tucked up safe and warm, well supplied with what you'll need for a couple of days.
Here on Martha's Vineyard too! Lots of electricity flickers this morning, and one brief internet outage, but both have stayed on. Life is definitely better with heat, light, and running water. No idea how much snow there is. There's less in the woods, more in the open spaces, and drifting everywhere. The resident malamute and I are about to go out for another inspection.
not nearly as bad in Queens, and my building guys have done an ace job clearing these environs. the dogs are not fond of the salt, but this is old news and I can wash their feet when they return home and they seem to have reached those ages when they no longer go happily nuts in it. this morning, I had to negotiate the actual snow in sneakers....bad idea. my search for snow boots turned up just one and my Long John Silver idea sucked because I use a cane, but have no crutch. fortunately, there's an army/navy place a block away. how many of us remember Hudson's on thirteenth street? I'm willing to bet you (Lucian) remember it well. I remember trying on jeans and long johns in the aisles at a time when no one wore underwear...the stuff was piled so high, it might just as well have been a changing room. I stopped liking snow when I started having to drive on it, since automobiles and snow are a dyad that begs for a showdown, which is news to no one. everyone stay safe.

Y'all hunker down. Take care of each other and Ruby.
Wow!
Stay strong, stay safe my friend
Hope you guys are safe. Here it's only 8" but it's the Ice Capades underneath. Slip 'n' fall weather. Stay safe.
WLNG has said 2 feet so I'm all for exaggerating.
Normal these days where I live in western NV. We don’t get any news focusing on us… 😜
I have the 511 App to see what's up with the webcams after a Tahoe Ski Trip a few years ago...18 inches nothing!
Ayup!
Actually, I live down the hill and we still have 6” - 8” in places. It’s pretty normal.
You lucky hoser. And here I am stuck on the beach.
Toss a snowball for us warm sunny beach dudes. I miss it.
Nice.
