These yo-yos are standing there holding weapons of war with big grins on their fat faces while the youngest is holding a card that reads, "Peace." How ironic. They also have their fingers on the trigger guards of their weapons. That means they are one sneeze away from shooting someone. I don't know if things changed after my discharge, but when I was in the Army we were instructed in no uncertain manner to keep our fingers away from the trigger (including on the trigger guard) unless combat was imminent. Unless they are preparing for a firefight with Santa Claus, those fingers on the trigger guards are irresponsible weapon handlings. Not for nothing, but the left-handed daughter is also pointing her weapon more or less at your youngest brother.

Maybe I'm missing something, but this sure looks like a family run by a groomer.

Correct. In the news clip of him defending this holiday greeting, with pride he posited why should he be ashamed of his family supporting HIS 2nd Amendment right... very telling, that.

These people have no shame. Disgusting. But in my view, the worst of this situation is the fact that voters keep sending these people to local and national governing bodies. I begin to despair!

Called his office too. DC and district. Left voice messages. That card is blasphemy. These people are responsible for the killing of our children. Heaven and earth weeps.

More useless “thoughts and prayers”. That is the most offensive Christmas card I have ever seen. I am infuriated.

I think little Bo Peep had a similar Christmas card she sent out. These two idiots could be the Dumb and Dumber twins.

And as you yourself have pointed out, there is huge, huge money in the business of AK-47s and other assault rifles. Remember, Lauren Boebert’s delightful Christmas card with her children and their dozens of assault rifles? They aren’t going anywhere. And these politicians long since lost any shame that attaches to a normal human; that moron MTG after the Tennessee killings, repeated that it was really necessary to have good people with guns in schools. Sure. Let’s turn primary schools into armed camps. Let’s give the 10 year old rifles, and watch what happens.

Ogles is my congressman. He lives probably 50 miles from Nashville and to the best of my knowledge doesn’t have a congressional office in Davidson( Nashville) county. This district was gerrymandered by our Republican legislators with the goal to deny Nashville residents a chance to elect a representative that shares their views. The 8 Republican congressmen and 2 Republican Senators from our state only represent Republican viewpoints which include more and more guns. So expect more and more innocent deaths.

This is what happens when Republicans gerrymander Democratic districts out of existence and all that matters is how MAGA you are for the primary.

I am ashamed, but not surprised, by the leadership of my state. Gov Lee is expected to sign a bill expanding public carry. House Bill 1005 would allow persons with a CCP to carry long guns, including AR15s in public.. An amendment to the bill would lower the age to 18 from 21. The bill was, of course, approved on a party line vote. The Repubs have consistently pushed this as we will “continue to expand civil liberties and freedoms at every opportunity.” We also lead the nation in firearm thefts as well as the weakest gun laws. The state is predicted to lose millions in tourism dollars as irresponsible gun laws proliferate. I don't offer invitations to out-of-state friends or family anymore...

Sad. But in that part of the country your state is hardly alone in those proclivities.

Here is an informative link to Giffords Law Center, founded by Abby Giffords to end gun Violence in America. Unfortunately, the map shows, by ranking, that weak or poor gun laws are the norm in the majority of the states. I am from CT originally and after Sandy Hook, they took little time to try to prevent another mass murder there.

I have thought about it, but after 35 years I have deep roots here. I would rather continue to work to bring progressive ideas here and elect people who will change the dynamic.. We are attempting to build the Dem party in our county, one voter at a time. The only way we will defeat the maga coalition and win back rural voters is to stay engaged. I live in a very rural area, run my late husband's cattle farm and talk to other rural voters with the experience and understanding that only being one of them brings.

I'm sad to say I'm beginning to hope the child of government officials blocking gun control at the national or state level is the subject of a school shooting. Yes, that makes me a terrible person, but I can't think what else would get through to these idiots.

I have often wished the same thing. But I think their reaction to the deaths of their own children and grandchildren would be to wipe a tear from their eye and say that sometimes sacrifices have to be made on the altar of sacred gun rights. And they'd add, furthermore, that their children would still be alive if only there had been more "good guys" with guns to protect them.

This is why those nut jobs make so much noise ... they want their voters to hear them ... they all assume the platform remains fiscal responsibility, law and order, small government... the msm and the deep state are the liars ... it’s maddening.

Like many of you, I grew up in the 60s and 70s. I spent my childhood in western Pennsylvania (think The Deer Hunter). Every family had a 30-30 or 30-06 deer rifle, and we hunted for meat. It was almost impossible to get a concealed carry permit—you needed a valid reason and had to convince the Chief of Police in a personal interview. There were rifles and shotguns on gun racks in pickup trucks, but NO ONE ever strutted around town with any rifle, much less an AR-15. Guns were not fetish objects; they were tools. Of course, we had exactly zero mass shootings. When I was in Boy Scouts, we all took a class in gun safety from the NRA before we could get our Marksmanship merit badge. What's happened since is a toxic and deadly mix of extremely effective marketing by the gun makers along with fearmongering by right wing media and politicians. How far we have fallen when mass murders of innocent children in multiple incidents does not result in immediate change to gun laws and ousters of cowardly politicians.

Ditto for life in the 50's, 60's and 70's in rural Maine. I think nearly everyone in our family hunted in order to put some meat on the table. My father was in the Army during the Korean Conflict and underwent sniper training. He was a crack shot and frequently filled his license, my Mom's license and my license (to "fill your license" means to shoot a deer and tag it with your 'license'--a numbered metal tag attached to the deer for when you bring it to the tagging station).

....but we knew not to touch Dad's 30-06 without his express permission and he made sure we all took the safety training offered by the NRA (back when it was a useful organization).

I guess the GQP wiseguys bring ammo, kevlar and gun oil instead of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Owning these guns is an "identity", and this card screams I'm a member of your "tribe". The people making and marketing them are laffing all the way to the bank.
