You are so smart which is why I continue to follow you, but honest to Christ, if I read one more time about how they are closing in on the fat orange bastard...how the evidence is mounting, how much trouble he's in , how many subpoenas, research, evidence mounting -- I think I'll scream. The midterms are any minute, and a clear message is still being sent: if you're not with him, you're out in the cold. He's had the walls closing in his whole corrupt life and has never been held to account.

I just have to flip back to the summer of 1974, watching the Watergate hearings, "Tricky Dick" Nixon, his "Plumbers" and the secret tapes. I have full confidence in the DOJ and the Congressional January 6th Committee. The Nixon saga began in July 1971, ended August, 1974. Three Years. The FOB is going down. My only fear (or relief?) Is he first will board a jet for Timbuctoo or wherever he can escape without threat of being extradited.

I'd like to see him try to flee to his Scottish resort. They despise him there. I believe the word has been passed on the lowdown not to even attempt entry into the UK/Scotland, but it would be a fine finesse to let him in and then never let him out again. Or allow Scottish officials to arrest him and try him for crimes committed there. Or better still turn him over to all those local Scots who were lied to, abused, kicked out of their property, had their area despoiled -- with luck they'd deal with him in one of the old traditional ways.

"Traditional ways" - like haggis?

Oh, I wouldn't waste good haggis on that turd. Might throw a case of the canned stuff at him, tho'.

Thank you Lucian to adding coherence to all the tidbits, leaks, headlines that make no sense to the rest of us. To us, Washington is Alice's Wonderland, a place where up is down, lies are truth, and nothing is ever what it seems. The rest of us live more pedestrian lives where actions have consequences, honesty is trusted and dishonesty reviled.

Actually, most of American government, even now in Washington, is populated by honest, hard working straight shooters, who have to compromise daily as required in a democracy, and sometimes that feels less than virtuous. But yes, we do need to root out the trumpian scum and dark moneyed puppets, and bring seditionists to justice.

It is about time for all of these miscreants to face justice and be answerable to the public. Guantanamo would be too nice for them

And one of Giuliani's minions has just been sentenced to a year in jail. He pleaded guilty hoping, probably, to get parole. Not. https://www.politico.com/news/2022/01/21/giuliani-associate-prison-foreign-donor-case-527601

Last night on Melber, Epshteyn, Navarro, and Dustin Stockton agreed to be interviewed on live TV! Now, I don't know if they are just stupid, are desperate, or what, but as I watched that BS unfold in real time, I wondered how many of the SC were watching in glee as those guys made a$$e$ of themselves. Epshteyn for the most part is the loudest, shrillest and most desperate sounding of the threesome, but he is sticking to his "story" (and it's a whopper) no matter what. Navarro appears to have literally fallen on his head upside down in the rabbit hole. Of the three, only Stockton appeared to have some common sense. Stockton's lawyer was with him, but he insisted on speaking for himself and has said that he would not vote for tfg if he ran again. I suppose he's trying to save himself from incarceration, but the fact that only one of the three would have a modicum of clear headedness speaks volumes about those really "great" people that were drawn to the flame like a swarm of suicidal and brainless moths.

So, aside from pleading the 5th, are they going to pin all this on the "crazies" who sold them a bill of goods? Is this the plan? They were just hapless innocents who believed all the nonsense that Powell and the Pillow Guy and the other nutcases brought into the WH? Please.

And one more thing - is it really true that QAnon is now spreading the tale that tfg is channeling the SOUL of JFK? Seriously? What do these people smoke?

We know those guys are blowing smoke, but I can't help imagining the drones watching Boris and Peter on Right Wing media...very convincing liars.

Yes, Stockton was a surprise, hope he has bodyguards.

Great insights, Lucian.

I've been waiting to use this quote. It may be premature, but here goes...

"The wheels of justice turn slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine."

Idk…unless the Repugs are preempted by a military takeover, what’s to stop them with the next, Gerry-rigged election?

By Jove I hope you are right.

"I would place a large bet that there is a pipeline between the Department of Justice and the Jan. 6 committee, and evidence has been flowing in both directions for months now." I see ya, and raise you $1 million! (Haven't played poker in awhile - I mean I AGREE!)

I had to bail 5 minutes into Ari Melber's 11-minute interview with Boris Epshteyn because Epshteyn was so delusional: widespread fraud, Trump was the legitimate president, yadda yadda yadda. Would love to hear him testify under oath.

“elite strike force team”. That's always made me wonder.

It's not like Repubs don't have cracker jack lawyers and investigators at their disposal, but proving the claimed election fraud was left up to this clown car full of fools instead. Why? Perhaps because it was so obviously untrue that no one of merit wanted to touch it?

And that's bad enough, but to also put these clowns in charge of the legal part of the insurrection might just be proof enough that no one was really taking it seriously. Kind of like Fox's successful legal defense in court that "everyone" knows better than to believe a single word out of little Tuckster's mouth. Right, everyone but their viewers that is.

Or like the "deep state" claims promoted by their Russian buddy Q with nothing but bizarre innuendo and speculation, but no real proof that Dems are baby eating sex traffickers running a shadow global gov't out of a donut shop.

Uncovering that would be pretty valuable evidence for them, but instead there's nothing.

Zip. Nada. Zilch. Just insane bullshit.

It can't be because the Repub investigators and legal minds are a pack of rubes, other than the fore mentioned clown car fools.

And it can't be that the underground Dem cabal is so far advanced both intellectually and technically past the capabilities on the Repub geniuses as to make it such a no contest pursuit that they can't find the slightest bit of evidence of this global plot, voter fraud, or bots in the vaccines can it? Not likely. Someone with a high school microscope ought to be able to find proof of the bot claim, but again, nada.

It seems far more likely that as with the vaccine plot and the cabal bullshit, voter fraud is and has proven to be a total fantasy and those who chose to or have been brained washed by Fox to believe this crap rather than use what rational brain they have left to start wondering why their side never manages to come up with any real facts are just flat out lazy slugs who prefer a TV drama version of their paranoid pathetic lives.

And of course playing Maga dress up is great fun and all the rage , so to speak.

I mean binge watching TV is bad enough, but binge watching season and after season of Fox's Magaland fantasy is certainly proving to be bad for their brain dead unvaxxed health.

Still, why hire make up drippy Rudy and deer in the headlights Sidney if you actually believe there was something to discover about any of this, much less get them to run legal lead on plotting for the insurrection? Was this just a way to calm down the orange dude that just got a bit out of hand? "Nothing serious here folks, just a bit of play acting to distract the Trumpster until the thorazine laced burgers kick in."

Was no one else wiling to sign up as legal reps because it was too gaga insane? I mean even fame hungry hand job Hannity finally had to text them to stop the craziness, and that's saying a lot coming from that careless greedy degenerate.

Meanwhile, who wants a couple of spare tickets for ringside seats to the upcoming televised hearings? Now that ought to be the real hoot! :)

Happy daze folks.

Here is the unanswered question in my mind. How many of these , obviously, involved and often conflicted denizens of Trumpworld will respond to the requests and subpoenas and voluntarily fully testify under oath to what they know and what they did? Based on the tac taken by some of the big fish to date we are going to see a lot of obstruction, delay and lawyers filing motions to dismiss/ignore. And, then when some of them are finally forced to testify how many will simply sit there with counsel and say "On Advice of Counsel I invoke my Fifth Amendment privilege?"

My point is the clock is ticking and it is now very obvious the Trumpworld strategy is to bury the 1/6 Committee and Justice in legal filings and obstruction from getting to the truth. Is there enough time between now and November to 1)get the testimony on the record and in public and 2) for Justice to file charges and begin prosecution?

The great Dean Smith , coach of North Carolina, when he was leading in a game would tell his team to go into the four corner formation. Run out the clock passing the ball around and watch how frustrated the other team became so it fouled and compounded its situation. Seems to me Team Trump is running a political version of running out the clock and just might pull if off.

Decent people eventually get tired of the schoolyard bully. Perhaps the time is fast approaching when Mr. Trump will find himself before a federal magistrate?
