I would walk across hot coals to watch Sarah Palin lose her car keys. Watching her lose this election is a sweet moment. A great start.

Trmp is crazier than a shit house rat in a meth-fueled trailer park. Watch him twirl.

You sound just like my late father. I can’t imagine higher praise.

Thank you so much Bill! Was your father Southern? I believe Southerners sometimes have a knack for stringing together vivid images and profanity. I am honored to be in the same sentence as your father!

He was a Pittsburgh guy and a gifted bullshit detector. He could spot a phoney — the lowest form of life in his world — from miles away. Not an easy guy but well worth the trouble.

I’d love to meet both Linda and your late father

I still want to see tRump frog-marched from Mar-a-Lago, surrounded by much-maligned FBI officers. As for Palin, GOP’s original Barbie Bimbo, she and her fellow attention whores (MTG, Boebert, Stefanik, ETC.,) can “Go Eat $h!t and bark at the moon.”

I just have to say, I do love this crowd.

What else is schadenfreude delight is the fact that Trump all but admitted that the documents were there in his office/possession in his post on his media site.

So if he admitted that he had them he can't claim he didn't know they were there, right?

Boy, I'd hate to be his lawyer-and I bet a few of the ones he does have right now are literally packing their bags and fleeing from the case.

Because now they can't even represent him because they're now suspected of lying to the feds.

I learned a long time ago-you can't lie to the feds/cops but they can and will lie to you.

Trump's about to learn this lesson.

I'm happy for the first time in nearly 6 years that he's gonna go down in flames. There isn't really anything he can do to stop it right now, and nobody's gonna throw him a life preserver.

He doesn't have that many friends.

Life preserver?? I would throw him a piano

The schadenfreude is especially sweet today. tfg babbling incessantly, desperately saying anything to stop the inevitable perp walk and humiliation. The only power he has left is the power of the mob. And the cherry on top is Palin losing

Randy Rainbow needs to do a parody: “Schadenfreude Delight!”

To the tune of Afternoon Delight…

But how do we get it to scan? The parody melody will need a tweak to fit Schadenfreude’s fourth syllable. Oh never mind! I get it now! As we watch Dump’s sandcastle begin to crumble as the tide comes in, we’ll all be singing

Now the 'legal team' Trump has is claiming that he only possessed those records that he was entitled to.

"WASHINGTON — Former President Donald J. Trump’s legal team on Wednesday aggressively renewed its push for an independent arbiter to review documents the F.B.I. seized in its Aug. 8 search of his Florida residence, telling a federal judge that he had merely possessed “his own presidential records.”

Ok, that's nice..but he's not entitled to any, you damn fools, and certainly not Top Secret classified ones, either.

The stupid is really bad on this. It's agony watching these fools drown in stupidity. Even I, as untrained and unlearned in law, am wincing with pain over these people.

God, Trump really is screwed now.

As we know, no halfway intelligent attorney will represent him. And he/she must work knowing no payment will be forthcoming.

*Rump can lie on the spot like a fish can swim. Anyone, who at this point, doesn’t recognize that is either daft or a dyed-in-the-wool MAGA cultist, likely both. It is much harder to understand why his attorneys would lie for him to the FBI, unless they’re really stupid. That may be the only caliber of lawyer who will work for him these days. He never pays them anyway, and they may not even be smart enough to realize that. Regardless, the schadenfreude gets better by the day. I can’t wait for tomorrow.

Does Trump realize that “I declassified” excuse, even if true, doesn’t help?

How many lawyers around him, just lawyers, are going to end up doing time? Cohen, Clark, Eastman and at least 3 in DocumentGate.

Sidney Powell too, although she’ll be too broke to hire an attorney if she loses the Dominion lawsuit.

He never declassified anything. He’s making shit up as usual. He claims that as soon as he removed documents to his residence, that action automatically declassified them. According to what I’ve read, probably in the NYTimes, that’s not how it works. Even a President currently in office has to fill out a special form requesting to declassify a specific document. Then he has to wait for a panel of government folks to consider the request and decide to grant it, or NOT. But of course, the most deeply MAGA faithful think all they have to do to know the truth, the whole truth, is to listen to Drumpf and Fox. No wonder he once said “I love the poorly educated”!

Expand full comment

I’m sure that he waved his magic wand over all the boxes and declared them all declassified. That should suffice to satisfy those snoopy FBI guys, according to Trump.

And all will likely lose their licenses to practice law and be disbarred as well. What a way to go down with the stinking sinking ship.

Your columns are so well written. Thank you. Open them immediately I see they’ve arrived. Malicious joy is the dictionary definition of Schadenfreud. Yes, I looked it up just to make sure. Along with the atmosphere emanating from Lawrence O’Donnell and his guests on this subject last night, I’m starting to feel a slight tremor of the Trumpquake I hope the DOJ and EVERYONE ELSE from the J6 Committee to GA to NY will bring about with their hard work. This person is a monster mobster criminal and must be brought to Justice. I fear what he did for those 18 months with these documents stuffed in his desk drawers and golf cart. 🙏🏻❤️🤍💙

While we watch, with undeniable glee, as TFG and his entourage trip over their own feet to incriminate themselves, what stands out in sharp outline is this: had we not had a corrupt DoJ, and a Senate full of hypocritical and self-dealing GOP “lawmakers,” this man would have been ousted during the first impeachment trial. When the separation of powers are observed, and when the rule-of-law is applied, justice can (FINALLY) prevail. Those 4 years were a nightmare.
