I'm practicing the art of gloating. There is so much to gloat about, Trump's taxes, Gastez's Republican level pedophilia, complete with being defended by Gym Jordan who has his own association with pedophiles and allowing them complete freedom to act. I will pretend to be the good witch and wish them all to long prison terms. All of them. And the infamy with which history will tag them.
I guess Faux News is where the soon-to-be-indicted Republicans go to offer their lame defense on the soon-to-be-released federal charges. Tucker Carlson didn't expect the shit show he asked for but got anyway. However, Matt Gaetz has just written his own pathetic political epitaph. Cue to indictments in 4 months or less. By the way has anyone ever figured out why the GOP is so snarled up in sex? Every time they get busted out it's for being where they're not supposed to be with people who they shouldn't be seen in public with. Weird.
It's white male privilege, Mary. (speaking as C.O. here, a Conscious Objector, I got drafted into this group but that doesn't mean I belong in it)
There is a certain class of spoiled, pampered white men who think they deserve everything and that they can do anything. Money, power, fame, privilege, and yes, unconstrained sexual privilege. Often but not always Republicans (Trump, Gaetz, etc.), think also Bill Clinton and Epstein and Prince Andrew and the members of the #MeToo club (Weinstein et al, and not always white men, e.g. Cosby). They get a little money and prestige, suddenly they think the rules don't apply to them, and then they engage in misconduct with women. High-profile sports figures do it all the time.
To your question, Republican politicians and officials seem to fall for it more often than Democrats. My take on that: Democrats are generally in it for public service, Republicans more often for self-service, (1) the money and (2) the attention and prestige, padding the résumé. I also agree with edgar, repression definitely plays a role, so many Republican politicians just don't seem to be very mature human beings, hence the baby face.
These rich little punks, these two and Kavanaugh, never a tough moment in their lives, soft faces, permanent pout. They all look like they enjoyed pulling wings off flies as kids. Well boo-hoo. Don’t think Daddy’s going to get you out of this one, Matt.
Such a menagerie of dysfunction-a ‘child’s garden of primitive ego defense mechanisms’ as a beloved clinical supervisor would observe after a particularly florid case presentation. Narcissistic Sociopaths give you all the data you need if you just let them keep on talking.
I never thought reading anything about Tucker Carlson and Matt Gaetz, together or apart, could be the least bit funny...only maddening...until I read your send -up and send- off tonight. Thank you for taking on this new political vaudeville team.
Omg, you are too funny😂 🤣😂🤣. Yes, I happened across that quick denial by Tucker suggesting he “would recall a night out” with Gaetz. Given the DUI’s where Daddy Donald Gaetz interceded, not to mention the time Matt was a prime suspect in the death of his college roommate, Tucker sure didn’t want to get roped into another Matt Gaetz cover-up. I hope he gets his due this time. . .
That was a big eye-opener! You weren’t lyin’ about Gaetz being a piece of shit. Spoiled brat and obviously daddy’s little shotgun rider. Disgusting heartless people. GOP must be breeding them.
White favoritism (privilege, supremacy) and male favoritism (privilege, supremacy) and straight favoritism seem to be a package deal. My dad tried breeding children with those traits, but for some reason, it didn't take. We started out that way because we didn't know better, but then over time, it fell away. However, Marlene, I agree with you completely that the GOP works to breed them, no doubt about it. And probably my perspective is biased because of my heritage, but I gotta tell ya, the German heritage people breed it too. Trump's grandparents are German. "Gaetz" is a German name as well. Sometimes it's a curse having German heritage, I see their names everywhere, most often on the wrong side of history.

''....why the GOP is so snarled up in sex?''....It's called repression. Check out 'evangelicals' for confirmation.

Yeah, let's throw Josh Hawley in there too.

I always knew you are a brilliant, compelling writer, but I never knew how hilarious you are! This was a gem!
This is why I love Lucian. Thanks TC, for bringing me here!!
"Friend"? Yes, perhaps Gaetz was her uncle. Can you spell L-O-L-I-T-A? Can you spell Epstein, Clinton, and Andrew?
Gaetz quits Congress...catches a gig at Newsmax...then POOF...disappears!!!
Thank you Leigh. Nice work!
We can only hope!
Gaetz is giving Lower Alabama a bad name...sort of.
