What you say is true. But I think you missed a point.
It’s not just that the insurgents thought being white would give them a pass. They did.
But you know the phrase, "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter”? These folks actually believed they were Freedom Fighters for the Republic and would be acclaimed as heroes.
With their cellphones, they thought they were memorializing a Patriotic Event. They probably thought a new holiday would be named after them.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall, in the conversations with their attorneys.
As the 45 administration went on (and on and on), his appointees and those in the inner circle got more and more mediocre. Not to say they still weren't smarter than Trump, but he was getting closer and closer to the bottom of the barrel.
I wouldn’t say that we are “lucky that these Nazis are morons WW2 and now”. Luck has nothing to do with it. During WWII, the hate was towards only towards Jews. American’s domestic terrorists broadened that range to also include blacks, brown, and Asian people. Where they are similar is that the majority are white, mostly men, and that they spew venom where they would murder. They did and now, like the Nazis nabbed after 1945, will be put on trial and sentenced to prison. I personally, would like to see them hang from their gonads until they cry “uncle” but I digress...

Nothing could support that idea better than Senator Ron Johnson's statement that he would have been afraid of the capitol mob had they been BLM or ANTIFA. (Oh, definitely fearful at seeing a threatening black skin! But how he pretends to know what ANTIFA people look like shows he has never seen one; at least in Berkeley, where faces of ANTIFA protesters were covered. ) These Republican good ol' boys serving in the Senate and House belong in movies from the 40's- 60's. White suits. Good with guns. Folksy, unless you're the wrong color, boy. How do these gents ever get elected? By more of the same back home.
