I appreciate your deeply informed and serious analysis all the time.

Thanks for this deeply informed and deeply deserved zinger at this fool, John “Fifth” Eastman.

Hey, Lucian - who’s your guess for tomorrow? 😁

Report: Cassidy Hutchinson, former senior aide to Mark Meadows, will testify tomorrow. Sounds like she testified in private that Trump was into the "Hang Mike Pence" chants.

You can take my word for it, conservatives make for lousy lawyering. They lack open minds, and they are to ego driven to be tolerated by people with opposing views who might have something valuable to say that would improve the focus of the inquiry, or provide a better context. John Eastman has to be the worst lawyer I have heard about in recent times, with possibly the sole exception of Rudolph Giuliani. These two remind me of the Nixon lawyers who went to jail following Watergate.

Conservative justices make lousy historians for the same reason. This helps explain why the _Dobbs_ decision is so glaringly misogynist and racist, among its myriad other faults.

Late this evening, the January 6 Committee announced that it will be holding a special hearing, just then announced, beginning at 1 PM tomorrow that will be presenting no evidence and taking live testimony from sworn witnesses. From the looks of it, there's going to be significant breaking news. I was listening to the TV set in the other room, and I heard mentioned that Mark Meadows would be testifying. Well, we'll see what happens from there. I have a sense that the wall of resistance that Trump's inner circle erected around him, and themselves, is collapsing. I saw the same thing happening in Watergate in 1974, and fifteen years later, with the collapse of the Berlin Wall. Since the hearings began, the January 6 Committee's proceedings have only gained in strength and intensity.

The rats are jumping ship, and it's only a matter of time that Trump realizes that he has no effective defense against what's coming at him from all sides. Of course, Trump will rant and rave that he's been betrayed by those in whom he placed his trust, and that he's the real victim of the story. But this is a story that we've heard many times before.

Well, maybe he can buy a burner phone. But I'd recommend he not hire Rudy Giuliani..oh, wait, I forgot! Rudy's been suspended from practicing law in DC and NY!

Just call a lawyer with vast experience in the Federal Bar. He's gonna need it.

Eastman complaining about the way he was treated during the encounter with the FBI and claiming some irregularity in the papers he was served. As if the DOJ would fuck this up!!!!

Like Jeffrey Clark bitterly complaining to Tucker Carlson about how *he* was treated? Lol.
