Two days away. The movers come on Saturday, and by that night, we’ll be in Milford, PA, in our new home, and I’ll be filing from there. As you can see, we’ve been packing. You can’t even see all the boxes in this shot, 25 in all today alone, and we’ve got more to do tomorrow.
I grew up in the army, and Tracy grew up as a Department of Defense brat, and both of us moved all over the world as kids and again as adults. But this move is special because we’re doing it as a married couple, and we’re moving to a new state to start a new life.
Unless something extraordinary happens between now and next Monday, which will be our first full
day in the new house, I won’t be filing a daily column. There’s just too much to do and way too little time. But I promise if something comes up, or something occurs to me, I’ll take a few moments and let you know what’s happening and what I’m thinking.
In the meantime, this is a very expensive move, and both Tracy and I hope that those of you who have been reading my columns for free will consider pitching in and paying for a subscription to help us take ourselves and this column to our new home. If you’re already a paid subscriber, you can buy a gift subscription for a loved one or friend if you want to lend a hand. Your support during this stressful time would be much appreciated, I can guarantee you that.
The next column you read will be written at my new desk in Milford, PA, less than a hundred yards down the street from the bluffs above the Delaware River. We’ll see you then.
Happy Trails to the both of you! Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to tell us that you are now on the move. I know you’re not Jewish, but there’s a sweet tradition that when one moves, they are given a loaf of bread, a little honey, and candles. The bread is what ties you together; the honey is the sweetness life will bring you, and the candles are to help guide you along the way for warmth and serenity. At least, that’s what I was taught.
Yay!! Two more Dems in PA, where you’re needed!
