Yippee! At long last we will see some movement towards justice. It has been a deflating and demoralizing slog towards holding the orange monster to account for his many, many crimes connected with Jan.6. We all saw it with our own eyes and heard it on tape too.

Truth Social exploding would be WONDERFUL! Oh you don’t mean literally exploding. You mean the Toddler Tirade. Oh well nice to anticipate no matter when!

Well, Twitter Xed itself out, so my expectations have gone up.

Today is the day my husband and I got engaged , 49 years ago. We don’t normally drink except on weekends ( retired and try to be careful😁) but we decided to have a cocktail tonight to celebrate. I pointed out I may have another reason to celebrate, a Trump indictment 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Expand full comment

Just read no indictment today. Now I really need that drink!!!

Pour one for me too. And...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! You’re so good. My friends who’ve retired, seem to have taken drinking up as a hobby! When my husband was alive, we had half a glass of wine at 5 o’clock. With dementia, he didn’t remember much, but he knew that 5 was wine time.

Realize it’s the anniversary of your engagement BUT we celebrated the day we met, the day we were pinned, our engagement and the wedding anniversary! With nearly 54 years together, we didn’t miss a thing to celebrate.

I watched John Lauro on TV the other day do anything at all except answer the questions asked of him. It was always some typical deflection over to illegal, nobody ever has, he didn't commit....blah blah blah. And I gotta say, if Lauro is any indication of the quality of his legal team, he's going to jail sooner than later. And that would make a whole lot of us very happy. I even got Lauro's email and sent him a nasty little comment. It felt good.

Only 4th rate attorneys will represent the Mango Maniac since he doesn’t pay his bills. In addition, to quote Mark Slackmeyer on Richard Nixon, he’s “Guilty, guilty, guilty!”

The stories were all over the place about how many good firms and/or solo attorneys turned him down and interestingly, one of the reasons was it would wreck them out in the world. More people ought to think about that.

This will be interesting. MAGA will go batshit, McCarthy and the House Trump Cult will be beside themselves, and the meltdown on Truth Social will be epic.

Yup! And that would be a wish come true.

McCarthy and friends will start impeaching everyone they can think of. This perverse ugliness will not detract from my pleasure seeing the Orange Menace meltdown. You might need more hairspray and cheeto colored makeup. Sweat and tears.

Media caught an underserved break today with the FL superseding Box Hoax indictment. Every broadcast and cable network along with print went with the unconfirmed tall tale of the SC told the Trump attys an indictment for 6Jan was a fait accompli setting off a foaming frenzy that played right into Trump's hands. Allowed him to refute the story, one his own Team had planted with the media.

Now instead of wiping egg of their faces, media can go gaga on something real. Until they go beyond what is in black and white, again.

I am still thinking it won’t happen before the multitude of police forces in the greater metro DC area are first alerted. AND IMHO it might make some sense to go for Monday, the lunatic House will be in recess by then, and the asylum residents will have scattered to the four winds. IF I’m wrong and the indictments fall sooner- fine!! Lock his ass up!!

Trust me, the law enforcement within D.C. are already not only "on standby alert" {or the equivalent in bureaucratese of your choice] but have been through special briefings with regular updates. The greater metro, yes, you're correct they had better be on the BOLO level for Magats, maybe less so for special briefings, but likely ready for randos and more organized, more serious problems.

January 6 marked a watershed in many ways.

May it be so. Thx for update

The good news about the next indictment, once a judge has been assigned he/she has the power to SILENCE the public threats. Including removing the threat from the public.

Could this case come to trial prior to the Florida case?

Expand full comment

The question might actually be, could this case NOT be stalled and maligned like the Florida case, so that it comes to trial in a timely manner as it should. I think Yes!!!

Expand full comment

Good question!

Expand full comment

I believe that, because that indictment was first, the Florida case has primacy and will therefore get first rights on all calendar dates and hearings. Although I don't know what occurs if this court has clear dates much earlier that don't conflict with any of the Loose Canon's hearings.

I bet this time it's all over the place, walls, ceilings, bedspreads, dog, cat ....oh that's right. Trump hates animals which immediately makes him suspicious anyway.

Tump also only grimaces, then often as not begins to scowl, complain, bemoan his victimization by [Insert endless list of evil, witch hunting, completely crazed victimizers of Donald J Trump, nearly angelic paragon of very stable geniuses, light unto huddled masses yearning to cheer Trump] - when almost anyone I have ever seen in my entire life, might smile, even a kind of "fakey" smile would mark a change. I have personally never seen video of him actually laughing, what the fork is up with that level of emotive-cognitive repression, anyway?

His "smiles" in posed social pix, where he's trying to look nice for some family's posterity, are so grotesque I always stop to look. Unreal.

Litigation tends to speed up when litigants start running out of cash. Not a factor with Trump though. Big money can bankroll Trump if he does run low on dough. We can expect to see motions to suspend everything until after the 2024 elections, because, you know, publicity etc. They will then argue about and appeal those motions for a few months, and after that they will argue that the election is too close for Trump to get a fair trial. And even I think this last argument has merit. Justice delayed, justice denied.

Not when justice is delayed by the defendant on purpose.

Third World / 96 Degrees In The Shade

Live at Reggae On The River 2004

This song is about the execution of Paul Bogle (ca. 1820 -- 1865) a Jamaican Baptist deacon and a National Hero of Jamaica. He was a leader of the 1865 Morant Bay Protests, which agitated for justice and fair treatment for all in Jamaica. Leading the Morant Bay rebellion, he was captured and hanged on 24 October 1865 in the Morant Bay Court House and executed by the United Kingdom authorities. He is depicted on the heads side of the Jamaican 10 cent coin. His face was also depicted on the Jamaican two dollar bill. However, this bill is no longer used in Jamaican currency. The Paul Bogle High School in the parish of his birth is named after him.
