I'm beginning to think I have PTSD. Seriously. And I have no reason - being a white woman.

You can most certainly be traumatized vicariously.

Oh no, never think you have no reason: these are your fellow Americans, your neighbors, being killed at whim. Hope you can find a way to use your distress in the fight. Sincerely, Black woman ever more worried about living in Amerikka

Thank you. I have so many Black women dear friends and my heart literally aches. I feel powerless to help them. I am 74 with health issues but a HUGE heart.

Not powerless! You can contact elected officials. Maybe you'd also want to phone or text bank - maybe you're already doing this stuff, I don't mean to preach but to encourage. If you haven't found a group working for justice to join (online) I hope you will. As you know, this is all hands on deck!

It has been a bad year for us again ... on step forward, three steps back ...

It is MADDENING that these white supremacists think they have the upper hand all of the time! They shot a 15 year old child! Another CHILD! We white folks cannot bury our heads in the sand. We must write to our Congress reps to pass laws that protect all people. Troll the R’s on Twitter. For instance, I troll Kevin McCarthy and Ted Cruz but I do it in the nicest of ways to tell them they are full of shit. I call them Qevin and Qeddy. Let everyone hear from you! Call their offices and complain. Align yourselves with Indivisible. Donate to ACLU or Southern Poverty Law Center or Fair Fight. Just do something because we don’f have time to do nothing.

According to the CDC, there are around 40,000 gun deaths per year. 60 per cent are suicides, 37 per cent murders, and 3 per cent by police or others. Those were 2017 stats.

This is who we are, sad to say.

I heard the 911 call. What I saw---clearly---was a maniacal young black girl in a furious rage, a knife in her hand, rush-attack another black girl. Agree with almost everything you just posted... but... this seems significantly different than George or Duante or most oft the incidents we see. Didn't look to me like there was a lot off time to 'negotiate' or talk down the crazed attacker. In my view, that girl meant business and would have succeeded in hurting or even killing the other. If she would have murdered the other girl, then what would this cop be accused of? Failure to perform his duty? Would they say he could've tased her? Maybe. It all happened at the speed of light.
