Surely the only thing that explains this Trump victory is that the American public in the main will not vote for a woman. I see no other unifying explanation.

Totally agree. The patriarchy defeated Kamala. She lost those who will be most likely harmed by the Trump regime. Minority men unable to countenance a woman leader.

And women??? Please lets not forget about the "older white women" who were going to come out in large numbers against the "low propensity voters"......

Apparently older women did show up for Harris. ThereтАЩs not enough of us to overwhelm all the other population groups.

Where is your data demonstrating that a majority of so-called minority men (MOC) voted for Trump? List the "minority groups" with their % for Trump and % for Kamala.

So-called minorities (wimmin and men) have been carrying the burden of uplifting Ds since the Civil Rights Era.

Guess who hasn't?

In 2016 it was 66M for Hillary and 63M for Trump, so we'll vote for a woman.

Obama won twice going away, so we'll vote for a man of color.

What's left? A woman of color.

Too hard to handle for the fragile ignorance of the populace we've spawned?

We're a nation full of bloated ignorant fools. Not all of us by any means, but far more than any culture that'll be worth a shit going forward with the pond scum running things.

Very sad to see.

Be well, stay well and embrace the daily joys.

What the fascist white women who voted for Trump are saying to the rest of us: If we're stuck with too many kids and with husbands who beat us up, then so are you. You won't escape.

Amerika is more sexist, than it is racist, which is hard to believe, but true.

When Biden dropped out it was very worrying that we were nominating a wonderful person that was both a woman and of minority heritage. I thought she would bring out the youth and the bigots.

Had Biden been smarter he would have stuck to his sort-of pledge to be a "transitional" president and not sought re-election, announced as much after the 2022 elections, and not interfered with an open Democratic primary season. I was always skeptical about Harris' ability to beat a Republican nominee, let alone the raging creature himself. We just might have had a stronger candidate emerge from the scuffle, and if that was a white male, so be it. I, too, believe that blatant sexism played a large part in this defeat. Hillary at least won the popular vote.

I don't expect the Dems (at least) to ever nominate a woman for the presidency again in my lifetime, which is a blow to folks like Whitmer.

Of course, this assumes we will still have meaningful presidential -- or any other kind -- of national elections.
