The house photographer, The Trace, has to be an animal whisperer. Graycie is clearly responding to the direction, "Please look serious and maternal." A lovely portrait to be sure. (And knock off one more day if you like, Luc, because I, for one, can go another day without news of the horror being perpetrated on the people of πΊπ¦.)
When I was a new mother, I felt the same as Gracie at times: βPlease let me out! What was I thinking?β Gracie will be released from motherhood far sooner than I. We abandoned ours when they were 22 and 25. It was the only way to get them out of the house! They are adorable. both your kittens and my ...GULP...50 something children! Who have gifted glorious children-in-law and grandchildren. So do tell Gracie, itβs worth it!
Kitten are irresistible, and Traceyβs photography is too. What a great picture! Itβs amazing how quickly they grow. Sixteen days and they turn from little fur mice into baby cats. Taking care of five little ones has to be a chore for Gracie, but their mothering instinct is amazingly strong as I saw with our Brunhilda and her three litters. Keep the pictures coming especially when they figure out how to climb out of the box, and need toys.
Such a cute photo. I am reminded of the song by Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
[Verse 2]
Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Just reneged on a promise to drive to Manhattan to check on Bunny, the cat. After a poetry event on Long Island (reading a tribute poem about a woman who feeds strays in Seoul , Korea ), a rainstorm hit big time!
It is a tough call , but one taken in an abundance of caution.
Fortunately thereβs a backup caregiver who doesnβt have to risk the highway night drive in a the rain!
Today my wife, our son and I drove into town for errands and dinner. At the library I noted 3 cars with "Let's go Brandon" bumper stickers and one at Rite Aid. The diner had Fox News on the TV and there was nowhere to hide from it. When we moved here 17 years ago this was a solid Democratic town. Now I don't know what it is. Sean Strub sold La Fauchere to that fringe job Bill Rosado who owns the Tom Quick and who knows what other restaurants too. The Jorgenson brothers, who own the Dimmick, used to live next door and across the street from us. They were good neighbors but their right wing BS was out of control. They, Andy and John, both moved into town. Our new next door neighbors say the only restaurant they will eat at is the Water Wheel because all the others are MAGA owned. If you walk past the Dimmick on the 4th of July it looks like the Proud Boys getting ready to take another shot at a coup.
I don't like the direction our little village is going. Pretty soon we won't be able to tell the Borough from the Township.

Ditto that, Margo.
Thank you, Margo!

The Kitten Watch is much better than more war or politics news at the end of a long week. Thanks to you both!

"Little fur mice" is a perfect description of the kittens in Tracy's first snaps.

wonderful
Exquisite! Youβve brought so much joy to us today, Lucian and Tracy.
So cute! Itβs hard work being a mom. It seems like Graycie needs a break.
Graycie looks like a good mom. Love the kitten updates
What a lovely picture!
I love the kittens report. This is the perfect antitode to the news these days.
Cute little tigers π
Theyβre so darling!! Mama looks beautiful!!
Thank you for the kitten update Lucian. Such a precious little family.

The gorgeous photo, and "trills sweetly', brought tears to my eyes. You two make a great team.
Somewhat off topic tirade about Milford:

Old habits die hard. Rite Aid is now Walgreens.
I don't know what to tell you. There are worse places to live. At least Milford isn't a town in Texas.
It's the way it is trending that worries me.
