Congratulations on a successfully completed move! Also, thank you for the news about Macron. I’m so glad to hear it. Any good news these days is a blessing.

With Ruby on the job, it's all good. You've got it all. I'm not a big okra fan, but your description of the slightly blackened version makes me wonder if I just haven't cooked it right. And I love your last two lines. If Le Pen pulls a Trump in future, will les sympathisants fascistes français march through Paris chanting "Arrêtez le vol!" or something along those lines?

Forgot to say I am giddy over the Macron news. Dealing with Marine Le Pen is all we’d need!!!!!!! Ugh!

The only good thing about Trump is that he's not a woman.

So reassuring to see those Tracy paintings that have been so long locked down in storage!

I am happy for you! But…title alone gave me hives! I thought “last day of the move” meant that you were completely unpacked, settled and having Palomas on your patio! For those of us who have actually unpacked 2 or 3 moves down the road, I’m still impressed by your perceived ease with this juncture. I hope you truly enjoy your new digs!

Glad y’all are settling in. The fried okra makes my Mississippi mouth water here north of Boston.

“Amazingly, Le Pen didn’t immediately try to claim the election had been rigged and she was the real winner.”

That was my first thought, too. Not enough cultists in France to make a go of that, I suppose.

There appears to be a lot fewer opportunities to mess with the election machinery there.

Glad to hear you are getting closer to being settled. While I know you write columns from your own point of view, and very much appreciate your scholarship and insights I would be curious to know your thoughts on the column in todays Guardian by Simon Tisdall.

I was riding the Wing today exploring some roads in north-central Tennessee, but I did check out the election results in France.👍🏻

Okra! Mmmm...... The boyfriend of my wife's sister said, in a disparaging way, Denise (New Rochelle, NY) sounds like a southerner when she uses skillet instead of frying pan when she was describing our dinner plans. Oh brother. 🙄

I am glad y'all are getting settled.
