Take the night off and use your good hand to touch some fur. Cats are a good distraction from what ails you.

I think I'll use that good arm to touch some wife.

Your phraseology sounds like a line from "Sweeney Todd!"

#1 Get Well.

#2 Get some ink on that deltoid. Recommend kitty paw prints leading up to the word Grandpaw.

#3 (tongue in cheek) Please don't go all RFK Jr on us. Likely the jabber was a sadist looking for a muscle and nerve bundle.

I've been meaning to get those Shingrex shots for something a year, but everybody I talk to says pretty much the same thing you're saying, do whenever I pass the drugstore, I seem to forget all about it. this is obviously completely infantile and reminds me of my four-year-old self, who had to be dragged out kicking and screaming from under the bed. certain old habits are probably the last to die.

still, anybody who's ever had Shingles tells me it's as sick as they ever remember feeling.

if your post and photo actually scare/shame me into getting past my own bullshit, you'll be one of the first to know...

I can attest to that! Shingles was a nightmare when I got it. Get your shot, sbuddy! You won't regret it - I promise!

Just so. You don't want the disease.

Shingles was also a nightmare for me. I had it on my face, nose, eyelid, mouth, luckily it missed the 3rd nerve and did not affect my actual eye. The worst was the headache that kept me awake. It took me over 6 weeks to recover. I had the shingles sensations in my cheeks for months after so I was happy to get the 2 vaccines. They were a breeze compared to the virus.

I hope you feel well right away Lucian.

David, if you ever had chicken pox, I would heartily recommend the vaccine. The older you get, the more fragile your immune system may become and the more susceptible you may become.

I recently recovered from a facial allergy reaction of unknown origin. It’s my second episode in the last 4 years. The loathsome steroid injection and follow up dosage works well enough but the sleep deprivation is intolerable, especially for the spouse.

for sure, best wishes to all who encountere3d shingles and to all ho are hoping to avoid it.

Just do it. I had both vaccines and hope it's enough. I've seen Shingles up close and it can do permanent damage. Be brave.

I’ve had the shot and...nothing. You only hear about the “interesting “ cases!

Watched my Mom suffer through a bout of shingles and that was all the reason and encouragement I needed to get my Shingrex shots. The shots aren't fun, to be sure--but trust me, they are a whole heckuva lot better than having shingles!!!

David, Get the damn shot!!! That’s an order, from your past.

Try putting an ice pack on the injection site for 20 minutes. Wrap the ice pack in a pillow case so it’s not too much of a shock.

You are such a brave boy!! I’ve had my two because I know people who have had shingles and I for sure don’t want that. I hope you can handle a cool drink. :)

Both shingles vax kicked my ass—pain, fever., malaise. Worst reactions I have had to any vaccines. This too shall pass

I had both shots, too, as soon as I was eligible. I remember a slight ache, but not enough to take my arm out of commission. Anytime somebody wants to give me a shot that will prevent a serious illness, I’m all over it. As further incentive, David, contemplate how many nasty complications Diane Feinstein had after getting shingles last fall or winter.

When I had my 2nd shingles vax shot I thought somebody had used a hammer on my arm. Took a good 48 hrs for it to really feel like it was getting back to normal. Take care and be happy you won't be experiencing the joy of shingles!

I hope you feel better immediately if not sooner.

Off topic -- someone on this site mentioned Bill Mauldin's memoir "The Brass Ring" -- I sent for it, read it, and verily I say unto all, it is really good. Whoever recommended it -- many thanks.

The shingles shots made me so sick. High fever,( at one point 102.8 ) chills, nausea, arm pain like yours, but to avoid shingles I’d do it all over again! 🤷‍♀️ The covid vaccines made me sick too. Don’t know why, flu vaccines have never been a problem. Anyway, 36 hours of discomfort are worth it.

Speedy recovery. Having your shingles shots is very important. What you're experiencing is minor compared to shingles. I was fortunate with no reaction at all to both. Don't know why.

Oh, I know your pain. The second shingles shot put me down for the count for two days. Ibuprophen and bourbon got me thru...
