It’s pretty pathetic when the best you can say about a person who has “occupied“ the Oval Office for the last four years is, “well, at least he didn’t start a nuclear war…“
"Pure unadulterated evil" is EXACTLY the same phrase I've been using for the past 4 years to describe t-Rump. I'm glad I'm not the only person who refuses to call t-Rump pathetic, or, as his niece describes him, mentally ill. He may be both of those things, but so what? The important thing to be aware of is that TRUMP IS "PURE UNADULTERATED EVIL!"
I won't feel terrified at waking up, or dreading watching the TV news anymore. It's going to be a while before life returns to normal, however, because the damage he inflicted is going to be long-lasting. Especially all the people who lost their loved ones to a virus he dismissed as nothing. Thank god he's gone. I hope I never hear from the SOB in my life again..and if I do, it's coming from his prison cell.
In November of 1966 I was with a group of similarly left leaning students at the University of South Florida watching returns from the off-year elections. LBJ was president, and had alienated the traditionally Democratic South with the Civil Rights Act. The Democratic Party was also fractured over Vietnam. Things were not going well in Senatorial, House, and gubernatorial elections. One small piece of "good" news was that in the Maryland gubernatorial election a Democrat named, as I recall, Mahoney, who was attuned to the Southern wing of the party and whose campaign used what we now call "dog whistles," was defeated by a "moderate" Republican named Spiro Agnew. That was before Agnew got schooled in the new GOP approach, which was to seize the ground occupied by the Southern Democrats, and before he got Bill Safire to write his speeches, laced with alliterative gems like "nattering nabobs of negativism" and "Pablum for the permissivists."
Once again, a smart Trump would have seen the COVID-19 as an opportunity to excel, done the the right thing, then get reelected. That's how close we got.
He was probably his happiest watching his insurrectionists storm the Capitol. Maybe he will hole up somewhere and watch it over and over and over again.
Great piece!
I might actually start to sleep again.

Pretty scary, kiddies.
Maybe he will be happy retired in Florida.

Ask his neighbors how thrilled they are.
