Spent time removing ordnance from Quang Tri in Vietnam. The CBU's were the most unstable. Our war planes dropped them all over that province. Viets would throw them in fires, etc.. My team helped drop casualty rates by bringing kids to class rooms who were missing hands and feet from Cluster Bomb Units. Use of these is pure evil. The weapon should be banned. Putin should be banned as well.

Well now that Putin has authorized a terror weapon, can he officially be put on terrorist lists by us and the rest of the West? Maybe send in Seal Team Six?

Way back when Lucian and I were cadets, we were shown the effects of cluster bombs. In the film, goats were staked out in an area about the size of a football field. A bomb was detonated and every one of the animals was either killed or maimed. Putin is a sick MF!!!

That must have been right after the training film on personal hygiene, a classic.

When I consider the time, money, and ingenuity devoted to developing these weapons, I think that maybe the human race is not worth saving. So I'm trying to think of sunflowers, and the blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag, and everyone everywhere who's doing their best to prove that the human race is better than this.

Hitler asked for ten years; appears Putin is aiming for ten days. The song "War! What is it good for?" is my ear worm today.

"Employing weapons of terror is an act of desperation. International organizations like the UN and Red Cross should immediately condemn Russia for using cluster munitions and call for them to cease."

Will Putin pay any attention these these calls and condemnations? Of course not!

He needs to suffer severe consequences.

He definitely NEEDS to/SHOULD suffer the consequences of his horrific actions, but will he? Putin, like t-RUMP, is an expert is avoiding any negative personal consequences for his actions.

Lucian: I've had trouble watching CNN for the last four days---we don't have any other news source here. MSNBC and FOX are MIA with our hotel system on the fritz. That being said, CNN do not seem to jive with online reports. Watching CNN makes it seem to me like the Ukrainians are holding the fort and in some cases repelling the invaders. It may be true, but it contradicts other sources and reality. However, here's one for you: A close friend of mine has a girlfriend in Kiev. Her brother was killed two days ago in the morning and her older sister was killed that afternoon in shootouts. Instead of coming to the US she's going to fight herself now. Therein lies the true human story of what's really happening in Ukraine. The CNN reports I tend to believe are the ones indicating that almost every country in the west has or is coming to Ukraine's aid through proxy.

The horrors continue.

"Liked" for the information, obviously not for the sad content. Why isn't this ban universal? These are the things that in the past children would pick up because unexploded charges look like toys, right? And that gave impetus to the movement to ban them.
