This does not make me think “when will the ‘ask’ end?”

It makes me think “what were the PoS Republican House members thinking for the past 9 months?”

They will never take the blame for the destruction and death that their posturing delay has cost in lives and suffering. But they will hopefully all be judged on how they treated the victims as pawns in their sick game to appease the delusional Orange lunatic.

It was probably inevitable, sooner or later, that a democracy like ours would be caught with its figurative pants down. Our system, our freedoms, our Constitution and courts and laws, and our perpetual songs of self praise, have likely

made us a bit complacent. “It can’t happen here.” Yes, it can. It happened in cultured, literate Germany and it can happen here. Even we, the wonderful US of A, can elect a leader (you should pardon the word) of towering ignorance and greed, a loathsome, cowering bully-psychopath, a grifter, a cheat, a traitor. We are all watching, with hope and no small degree of trepidation, as this tawdry, disgusting person sits (and sleeps, and passes gas) as a defendant in the first of possibly four trials. Think of it: a former president indicted as a criminal. We all hope that our system of courts and laws is strong and resilient enough to bring this horrible person to heel. Shame on us if we learn nothing from the Trump experience. His corrosive presence in public life should make us sharpen our wits and tighten our laws, remove ambiguities in the Constitution, and retire the word “unprecedented.” It has happened, folks. We elected a criminal as president. Let’s hope, as the military services always try to do, that we learn from our mistakes.

We're really appreciative you're online with your perspectives and background, there really isn't anything that could replace what you bring, thanks Lucian.

Those so inclined and able to do it can consider this, too!

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded REVIVED SOLDIERS Ukraine’s founder - the “Order of Princess Olga” - the highest civilian award. *******

Brave Ukrainians are now fighting for their freedom, democracy, and the fundamental values and principles of the sovereign nation for which they stand.

Millions of families are suffering terrible misery as a result of the current state of affairs, which has shocked much of the world.

REVIVED SOLDIERS Ukraine is a well-established 501(c)(3) U.S. charity that has been providing medical and humanitarian help to Ukraine for many years

We are working around the clock to deliver medical equipment and supplies, arrange humanitarian aid, and provide medical treatment to injured Ukrainians.

*******

Imagine the feeble protestations from the likes of TFG and MTG about how this must somehow all be the fault of the aggressively invaded Ukrainians!

The New Yorker magazine in the last week or so pubished a long article by a reporter who was embedded with a Ukrainian stormer team, describing their work. Absolutely terrifying and exhilarting at the same time. Terrifying because infantry combat IS terrifying, and exhilarting because these guys are so damn brave and skilled that you have to celebrate their abilities and courage. To delay or threaten to cut them off from needed equipment is just appalling and a wretched way for comgressmen to behave.

According to another person 'in the loop,' Johnson only acquiesced after meeting with Ukraine Christians who assured him they'd make sure Ukraine would never join NATO and would vote out Zelenskyy once peace was restored. And I'm going to get out of my wheelchair and walk.

The sad thing is, the Russians' obscenely wasteful tactics have given the Ukrainians a chance to win this war, not just hold their ground. The horrendous losses in Russian troops and equipment have used up 90% of the pre-war troops and over 80% of the pre-war vehicles and equipment. Russia is running out of old vehicles to rebuild and issue to the troops - some estimates from defense analysts say that if the current loss rates continue, Russia will run out of Soviet-era equipment to rebuild in 18-24 months. At that point, they may be incapable of waging a modern war. Putin's megalomania may render Russia a former major military power, and that means Europe is safe for at least 10-15 years.

Our elected leaders of the Republican persuasion left Ukrainians out to die a slow death so Putin can finish them off. This is not the first time they have favored Putin's agenda over our own. Keep watching with me for more anti-American acts from Congress's Putin caucus.

The Republicans violated the prime directive of a good officer in war (attributed to Gen. Omar Bradley)..... "Every officer in combat knows that orders he gives will result in the deaths of men under his command. Our moral obligation is to waste as few of those lives as possible." . By their pro-Putin, pro-Russian stalling, the Republicans have the blood of hundreds if not thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians on their hands because they delayed the weapons support for months.....

As I understand it, the US holds Russian assets to the tune of over 3 billion bucks. Is that a correct figure? Those assets could be used in assisting the US to produce more weaponry while awarding our own manufacturing companies to make them. I don’t believe Putin was counting on Johnson’s decision to finally fund Ukraine. Yes, that mfer took his sweet time while innocents died. For that, his god should strip him bare and have him flogged, tarred and feathered.

The last paragraph, quoting a Ukrainian platoon leader, is tremenously dispiriting. Let us hope and pray that the view from his trench is limited. From over here, how did the political party of, at its dankest nationally, Harding and Nixon, turn into what it has become?

The 61B$ aid package is 48B to replenish US stocks and 13B in total aid to Uk, primarily mil. That would take it to circa 55 tranches of mil aid.

Since 2014 Uk has not regained an inch of their dirt along the 2000+km border w/Ru. (emphasis border, not internal). Whatever strategy and tactics they've married to hasn't produced any results. The chief success of this war is logistics channeling aid into Uk. Once inside Uk, a black hole.

There are so few Western journo embeds in Uk mil that their reports are more location specific anecdotal than they are informative of the current situation. Haven't seen one take a tranche from Poland to its distribution points. Do know the strategy and tactics have been fatally flawed not to regain border dirt somewhere along the 2000km border. It is a fair question to ask has the Uk mil logistics followed suite?

It's rare when 2 opposing mil are equal in any metrics. And reject the standard formulas used by US DoD on defending or going on the offense. Those are relics of 3rdGEN warfare that reduce war to mere academic exercises. If they were anywhere in the ballpark, then the US mil woulda achieved very different outcomes in various theaters beginning w/SEA, Ir twice, and Af. Getting pushed out by a mil force that is mostly made up of people with no formal education over and over again should force someone to say, hmmm maybe we ain't as smart about warfare as we pretend to be. But no.

Continue to conclude Uk military leadership is non-existent. Is difficult to comprehend there hasn't been a single breakout in 22months, even by chit luck combined with Ru mil incompetence. It is if Uk political and military leadership thinks and believes the day will come when Putin tires of war and begins withdrawing. Keep in mind the same or similar leadership swore the Russians were not going to invade despite all evidence to the contrary.

Time could be running out for Uk if Trump is elected and/or Rs win both chambers in 2024. Then all the aid would be for naught as well as the blood shed by Uk civs and mil. And if Uk does want the numbers game to get better for them drop the conscription age from 26 to 18. 2yrs of constant war is wearing down the fighting force mentally, physically, and emotionally. They need relief and reinforcement as much as they need mil aid.

Laws/Not War. War is absurd, as the drone swarms make all too clear. What happens when it's impossible to move anyone or anything, even a drone? Stalemate? Plan B?

Hopefully seeing the deadly wastefulness live from drones will slap us and we'll take the next step in human evolution; peace and an international court with teeth that we all respectfully defers to.

It's odd that that is such an off the wall concept. Until then, stay low.
