Former Texas Gov. Ann Richards described former Pres. George W. Bush as “all hat, no cattle.” Musk strikes me as all ego, no humanity.

We are being fully schooled on malignant narcissism this last 6 years. Musk is adding his example to the already brimming orange turd’s zillion moments of deluded self-worship and cruel insanity. Everything that Musk has been doing with his new toy is completely exposing his inflation, delusion, arrogant disregard for others, exploiting everyone on twitter for personal gain or pleasure, an extreme need for power, punishing the invisible (or visible enemy), wanting more power or dominance over others, lacking in conscience-regret-remorse for actions, taking pleasure in being cruel - calculating and cold, paranoid fantasies or engaging in conspiracy thinking, etc.

This form of sociopathy has been unleashed on the world and we are reeling from it. It’s literally traumatic and disturbing our nervous systems on a daily basis without respite.

What has he actually done to warrant being accused of any of those things, besides voice his disapproval of this hateful, tribalist, radicalism that you just demonstrated?

Hate filled, tribalist radicalism sorry that’s the Republican Party.

Thanks for reminding us of their other trait. Compulsive lying.

Their point is cruelty and musk is very good at it.

Born on third base and believes he hits home runs daily, Musk is another psychopath with authority issues. He believes he is rebellious, edgy, and an intellectual. He is merely another rich asshole whose cars are dangerous and over-priced. He’s turned Twitter into Flitter. Please go back to South Africa, Elon.

Embarrassing take.

Not for me. You like him. Believe what you choose. The evidence - which you think is “tribalism” - isn’t on your side. Anger does lose, but the truth wills out.

Expand full comment

If it's not tribalism then it's having believed disinformation from mass media, sources which should raise suspicion with their constant slanderous framing of anything he does. Usually when someone has only bad things to say about someone , they are the one's in the wrong trying to project onto someone else.

You seem to prefer either/or arguments, which are always Invalid. There are many many reasons to be suspicious of Musk and to consider his decision making problematical. No one with any sense does what he has perpetrated on Twitter. He know little about organizational development or leadership. You will be hard-pressed to find any business leader who supports him. His own comments and actions, not opinion pieces in any media, are damning. And if you are Elon, get better advisors. Having Asperger’s is no excuse for poor decisions and arrogance. As someone whose Grandfather was Cherokee, the term “tribalism” to describe small-mindedness and group-think is insulting. When the book “Tribes in Conflict” was written 25 years ago, that is NOT the phenomenon being described. Mr. Loses take you picayune attitudes and stuff ‘em in a small olive.

I have watched him since he acquired Tesla because I worked in a place where it was expected to know what was happening in the corporate world. So yes, I have seen him interviewed as well as read about his accomplishments, life before Tesla, dating Amber Heard, freezing embryos with her, his reaction to his children, Space X, his microchip experiments, and now Twitter.

He may be the most well intentioned person on the planet, but WHAT HE DOES is in the case of Twitter and hate speech harmful to other people. If owners do not understand that making decisions about others that have no impact on them personally is often dangerous and destructive.

He may also be extremely intelligent. He BEHAVES as if no one can make decisions except him. That’s over-controlling and narcissistic.

Being good-natured is lovely, but has nothing to do with what I said in my comment.

He might make a terrific dinner partner; however, if after desert he cuts half the jobs in the company, then says Oh no...come back to work and if you can’t work 18 hours a day then don’t come back and sign this loyalty oath... I will have a real hard time thinking very much about his management and leadership skills.

This ends the lesson. Your mind is closed to any criticism of Mr. Musk. Not being honest and direct with people who have improvement opportunities is cruel and unkind.

I was suspended from Twitter about 6 years ago-by infuriating George Conway and having him get me banned.

Now I wouldn't go back to there under any conditions or circumstances-Elon Musk is going to destroy a cesspool that should have been gone a long time ago, and anyone who actively joins it now is suspect as being everything the right wing is-anti-Semitic, anti-science, all of the stupid anti-s there are-and I hope it crashes, burns and takes Musk with it.

The advertisers who are left are probably eyeing the exits very nervously because it's pretty apparent that Musk is as evil as they come and nobody can rescue him or Twitter-not that either should be.

Anyone who is still employed there is well-advised to leave before being fired outright without severance pay.

Being rich is a curse when you believe your own lies and propaganda. Elon Musk is not a genius-he's a racist anti-Semitic holocaust denying asshole with too much money and power.

Karma's coming for him and I can't wait to see how it goes down.

Have you ever watched him speak candidly unscipted in an inverview? It tells you everything you need to know about who he is and it's almost entirely good natured or admirable. How that gets contorted into a hatred of him is rather concerning because it means that regardless of how much someone cares or contributes, people will still allow negative framing from media and corruption of perception by social and political biases to take hold unvetted simply because it may cause dissonance to perform due diligence.

Tesla exists because of California not because of Texas. So why is the little racist relocating?

That question isn’t due to anyone’s reporting it is musks own actions.

My dislike of the Muskrat is based mostly on his actions plus some of the shit he spews, however good naturedly.

I also have seen no evidence of how Elon cares or contributes in any significant way. Since you imply that those of us who dislike him did not do our due dilligence, implying that you did, then please cite examples of his caring and contributions.

Psychopaths can be very charming (not saying he is one, but how some contemptible people can present quite nicely).

I also take issue with your "framing by the media" comment. Being a member of the media, I can attest that it is anything but some monolith that decides and acts en masse.

Anyone who gets acquinted with Elon's personality NOT as depicted by a hostile 3rd party will see what I'm talking about. Everything he does or says is negatively framed by media. This is should raise all sorts of red flags but because it's in line with a particular social narrative, those members will suspend due diligence and accept what is stated. I not convinced they even have a choice in the matter. Ultimately the "news" is 13 to 1 occupied by people identifying as left or democrat. Because Elon has taken their some of their control away by buying twitter, we get to witness media trying to punish him for it. The slander is not based on reality , it's based on trying to get advertisers and investors to believe that Twitter is circling the drain. Some advertisers have already fallen for it. Twitter has not lost any users, it's growth has slowed slightly. Twitter was overrun by biased leftist moderators in favor of the dominance of their ideology rather than a fair and balanced platform. Many of them were let go. This is GOOD for the country and for our prospects going forward. If you want to get an idea of who Elon ACTUALLY is, watch what he says here: https://youtu.be/DxREm3s1scA?t=8291

Musk chaos. Lucian if you have not read TCinLA’s outstanding analysis of Elon do it now. TC has Asperger’s which he has successfully dealt with. (Not elegant phrasing). Elon is acting out a severe case of Asperger syndrome. It is all there in an old post. Search TC’s Substack list. If you don’t read him regularly, you need to start tonight IMHO. I was never a fan of Musk. Something about billionaires in general seems sociopathic to me. With the growth in the number of them and their exponential involvement in public affairs, the worst of my opinions of them have only been reinforced.

The worst of those thoughts being: They're billionaires because their sociopathic, and fascism is the expression of a sociopathic culture, so of course they're fascists. Right now, I'm looking at Musk. If he is/was the richest man in the world, he is, by extension, the most sociopathic/fascist man in the world.
