On target, and thanks for reminding us. I get tired of reading Biden gloom stories when in fact such is not he case. I only hope that all of these journalistic sayers of doom and gloom can get their Scheisse zusammen!

Undoing 4 years of t-rump damage will take longer than 10 months, particularly when the vocal Repugnicans are so contrary AND all of the others are playing solitaire on their smartphones. Who cares about this country? Not Repugnicans who are just a steaming pile of scheisse!

Thank you for writing this!!!! I have been appalled by the constant headlines about how Biden is in a tailspin because nothing is getting done. You have nailed this. And he's only been in office for less than a year. But we also need to realize that we will likely lose at least one chamber in Congress, and so there isn't much time to do big things. And the DOJ needs to go after Trump and Co. while it's possible.

I've been writing Postcards To Voters on behalf of Allison Russo in OH-15, which has a special congressional election coming up. (Early voting is already under way; election day is Nov. 2.) I asked a friend who lives in Columbus if he was in that district and he said no because it's gerrymandered to hell so only Republicans can win. But we're fighting back anyway -- and once again I'm reminded of how many highly qualified Democrats have been running for office up and down ballot in the last few years. There *is* too much to do, but there are so many people out here getting it done. As for being depressed, I'm too pissed off to be depressed, and hopelessness just isn't an option.

N matter what I do, things will work out as they will. So obsessing about "What If's" right now is not productive. I became more active in my county's DFL Party. We don't stand a chance in this bright red District, but we enjoy each other's company and we get satisfaction from doing the good work. We are preparing for our annual dinner/fundraiser right now. It is actually invigorating to be such an underdog. I suggest this as an antidote for the deading frustration of the daily news cycle.

Thanks for the morale boost! That was a necessary slap in the face while we all panicked.

I wish LT would run for public office. Senate, at least. We'd get straight talk and work toward the common good.

E Pluribus Unum, ‘from the many, one.

‘It has been my personal experience that the path to achievement of any vision is quite simply choosing and re-choosing that vision without regard to ‘current reality (or better, perceived current reality).

Reagan changed the paradigm of ‘from the many one’ to; f**k you buddy I got mine; which fueled the fear driven mad scramble that has brought us exactly to this point in time and space.

Whose vision was this!?!

We, as a Democratic Body have the Power and Responsibility to declare and create a vision that manifests a Nation and a Planet that serves the entire Living Continuum.

This vision is made by the individual to serve that Continuum, which in turn serves the individual. So…

What could you, as an individual, envision for us all, by the the end of this century? And then, ‘regardless of current reality, live out that vision now.

‘Just handle the matters at hand, while choosing and re-choosing your vision.

Take notice and acknowledge those who are moving in consistency with that vision and the curious way that impediments dissolve or self destruct.

‘Here’s a hint…it’s already happening.

I’m planting trees.

Democrats can all too often be their own worst enemies, while Republicans virtually never speak out against their own regardless of how Matt Gaetz or Marjorie Taylor Greene they may be.

Okay, maybe we should relax for a couple of minutes -- but, damnit, that is hard to do with so much at stake. Thanks for the newsletter tonight as I needed to hear this message.

Sorry, but don’t think I can agree with the premise that the Dems can walk and chew gum at the same time. Count me in the camp that thinks we’re in a cage death match with the Republicans for our democracy and need to prioritize the effort toward that end. If the dam breaks every thing else will be for naught anyway.

Know when I won't be depressed? When Trump is indicted, for, well, every damn thing. Also Bannon. And Jared and Ivanka for good measure. When DeJoy can't sabotage the post office anymore, when something is done about the Supreme Court. When Hawley, Boebert, Greene and the rest of the dangerous morons are thrown out because boy, are they failing us. And all the voting restrictions are reversed so we can actually have a free election ever again. Sorry to not join the optimism train because Biden is trying. The Repubs are trying much harder to undermine everything. I fear for the midterms, and if I read one more headline about you know who maybe winning in 2024...The GOP knows it cannot win ever again, fairly, so it is full speed ahead undermining democracy. The Dems just might lose their slim margin sooner than we think...

Agree with you on all fronts. Things are ACTUALLY GETTING DONE. It ain't fast, it ain't f@#kin' easy - none of it - and the resistance from the neo-Nazi side of the aisle (and I'm lumping Manchinima in with the repugnicans) makes it way worse than it has to be. All the hand-flappers and doom-sayers now have to STFU and get to work helping in whatever way they can, most especially in making sure we maintain primacy in all three branches in 2022. SUPPORT THE CANDIDATES. GET OUT THE VOTE. NOW IS THE MOMENT.
