That entire event was a complete and utter shitshow of the 1st water. The journalists there were literally stunned to hear such blatant (and it was horrible) racism gushing from his mouth that they were literally speechless-he berated them for not being polite to him and he got laughed out of the room.

Yes, we know Oy well around here. DuaneReade was on an irrational buying spree for a couple of years. As small neighborhood drugstores faltered, then failed, DR grabbed up everything in sight. CVS was more judicious—stuck to fewer, larger spaces, often not pharmacies before. Finally Walgreen, never an NYC presence, saw their chance and grabbed DR. I don't think DuaneReade exists as such anymore, and Walgreen did close stores too close to others to be profitable. With the closing too of St Vincent's and now Beth Israel hospitals, Greenwich Village is as much a medical wasteland as a ghetto, but the villains here are gentrification and Amazon. The unusually clever last gift shop that closed was already on borrowed time and pandemic-further-reduced foot traffic had to have been the last straw. … Wish I had come up with something better than difny for diane f nyc, but I had to get rid of di fi ny fast. According to Sharpton, t-Rump didn't care how racist and offensive he sounded; he was talking to his worshipers, who LOVE his racism, and not to those Black journalists. Personally, I've said all along that racism is the basic component of t-Rump's appeal. His mistake, however, IMHO, is believing that a large majority of Americans share his attitudes.
