Nothing pleases me more than seeing MTG get her comeuppance…Secret Jewish Space Lasers strike again!

She went into hysterics after her loss. Maybe she's afraid the payments from Putin will stop.

She's going to take big but when they return from their latest vacation and she tries to vate the Speakers Chair. Conceivably, we could be addressing Speaker Hakeem Jeffries in a couple of weeks.

She's a piece of work alright. And what about the fools who agree with her, How did so many of them get elected in the first place?

Johnson finally did the right thing, Any government is only as good as the sum total of those who make it up, and if most of them are for the good of the country than for themselves we'll have a good government. ,The problem right now is the MTG faction that are only capable of seeing a small part of the picture. They are unable or unwilling to grasp the intricacies of the bigger picture. They are stubborn too, it must be their way or no way, they see compromise with the Democrats as as fraternizing with the enemy. Putin must love to see them in action, blocking everything that might impede his ambitions. They are a very dark negative crowd, more bent om destruction than construction. But what do you expect that call the J6 insurgents patriots, and hostages and who want to see the devil incarnate re-elected as president.

This is the question: How *did* so many of them get elected in the first place? The story of how they got elected goes back many decades, and probably back to the Civil War. It's why I wish so many people didn't focus so exclusively on Trump or on the MTGs and Matt Gaetzes and Josh Hawleys and all those godawful Tommy the Tubas whose names I have a hard time remembering.

I have many family members who’ve served in the US military ranging back to the Revolutionary War. It gets really personal when I see these chicken shit Putin sympathizers essentially giving the middle finger to all of my relatives who fought bravely to support this country—and global democracy. I’m reading the diaries of my grandfather who served as a US Army Lieutenant in WWI in France right now. This brings it all home.

My hope and prayer is that this defeat of the 112 House Republicans who voted against the aid package for Ukraine will result in them all being sidelined and ignored going forward, and that their craven kowtowing to Orange Julius will be written in phrases similar to the capitulation of Vichy France to Hitler in WWII. We know who won then. History may not repeat itself, but I hear a rhyme.

Orange skidmark is my take on him David…

Hear, hear!

I could write the same thoughts down verbatim, only changing my Grandfather Turnbull's rank in the US Army - must have been lower, as he served as a balloon observer over the trenches - and adding that lacking a diary of his years there, here are his only two anecdotes about it:

The entire company, more or less, participated in a rather rollicking poker game that got going right after they received their pay; when it ended, the company cook had won practically everyone's pay - likely an exaggeration, but I heard this maybe a half-dozen times, in the summer at Lavallette and Manasquan at the Jersey Shore, in Waukegan, and several times in Des Moines when he and my grandmother visited, so who knows?

I only understood that you shouldn't wager ALL of your paycheck in a poker game - but it was in a combat zone, so there's that.

The other is that Grandfather T. was up in a balloon with his binoculars as a spotter, and looked across "No Man's Land" to see a German spotter, roughly the same age, late teens / early twenties, looking right back at him, and he for some reason immediately and indelibly, registered the total absurdity and insanity of war. That's all, over and out.

I am still trying to come to terms with the fact that MTG, so dumb she has referred to "Hitler's gazpacho," is 1) a Congresswoman 2) someone other Republicans feel they must placate and 3) someone who news orgs feel deserves ink. It is a relief to see the Democrats vote for the funding. Ukraine is taking the hit that we would have to take if Russia overran Ukraine, then Poland. They are depleting Russian trigger pullers, equipment, arms, and munitions. If they weren't doing it, we would be doing it one day. I am so pleased to see #Moscow Margie losing her few supporters. Clearly, the GOP house is rudderless. We have yet to see if they try to overthrow Johnson in an effort Margie is leading. I would love to see her castrated [metaphorically] as she serves no useful purpose. She took a great number of hits on twitter today. It was a good day and trump is feeling the pressure of the trial. Sitting in a courtroom for 6 weeks may take a toll on him. They will pump him up on drugs to keep him awake. I am disappointed that we funded Israel as they continue their brutality against a defenseless population. Israel needs to stop their apartheid policies and if it is not apartheid, it is the first cousin of apartheid. It is an open air prison, a phrase some do not like to hear, but it is what it is as the younger folk like to say. Israel JD...

Imagine if the DOJ had investigated the Members of Congress who appear to have provided info and tours to the insurrectionists leading up to January 6, some of whom are in the Putin wing. The DOJ has allowed them to get away with treasonous behavior. Now they can continue to follow Trump's orders, defy voters, disrupt Congress, and promote Putin. Will they ever face consequences for their reprehensible behavior?

Expand full comment

That is my question, Laurie. Why have they not been investigated?

Expand full comment

I don't know, Ally. Perhaps other readers can tell us.

Expand full comment

The fact that they participated OPENLY in the coup and now are OPENLY spouting Russian propaganda and are still not being investigated continues to haunt me. Surely DOJ has the capacity to at the very least "follow the money" and find out the direct connections that Putin has with these members of Congress. As I recall, there's a law against "aiding and abetting an enemy," and maybe even a word to describe it: treachery.

Expand full comment

It's really astonishing - - they're even proud of their treachery. Of course, they are auditioning for Trump's VP as well as a high-paying gig on Fox or some other Putin-allied media. Will we ever know why Garland and other VIPs at the DOJ are letting these traitors roam free?

Another thing I doubt I'll ever understand: On 9/11 when the US govt closed all American airspace, grounded planes on the ground, and redirected any planes in the air, somehow someone knew to let the Bin Laden family fly out of the US in their own aircraft that day.

Expand full comment

I'm certainly not "in" on that mystery, but I did personally know the pilot who the Bush family "paid" to fly the Bin Ladens around in those days. The pilot went to college with my late husband and lived in Houston. I have been in his home and attended functions with him and his wife.

Let him speak! Donald Trump's own mouth is our best weapon in defense of democracy.

Expand full comment

Don’t kid yourself. The propaganda machine for mEGA is nothing short of dangerous. You’d be surprised how deranged the electorate is, many voters vowing to abstain from voting entirely, others writing-in Micky Mouse.

Many immigrants, once they become citizens, want to shut the borders so they can keep “the goodies” for themselves.

It’s a sad commentary, but “the money-grab” has corrupted any sense of decency and we have descended into a snake pit of selfishness. Advocating stupidity is hardly a cure for what ails us.

Expand full comment

What ails us at the moment is Trump (my opinion), and the best way to cure it is to expose it to the short term memory deprived public as much as possible. The deranged portion of the electorate is already lost. The Independents will be where this thing is decided. And in a race that is not about who do you like better but instead who do you dislike most, I think reminding them of what the monster is makes the most sense. Biden ran his campaign from the shadows last time. And although he had to do so, it worked. The more people are talking about Trump the better. The more people are talking about Biden? Not good.

I think this is especially true now that the remnants of trump's mind are oozing out of his ears.

Don't let them forget.

Expand full comment

The Biden administration has accomplished a lot. They should make sure to spread the word to the electorate.

Expand full comment

That makes perfect, logical sense but it doesn't seem to work. Or maybe it is working and people are lying on polls. That's entirely possible.

Speaker Johnson turned his back on the unwritten and uniquely Republican rule invented by Speaker Dennis the Perv Hastert Rule of not bringing a Bill to the floor unless a majority of the majority supports it. The Uk aid package vote was 101 R yeas v. 112 nays with 1 voting present. All 210 present Ds voted yippie aye yay.

The 112 R House members voting nay included at least 2core with weapon/ammo plants in their district. Didn't cross-check it with the Infrastructure however me-gut suspects some overlap to voting nay while touting the $$$ and jobs from both in their district.

Uk must show success and progress from this tranche cuz it's highly unlikely any more direct aid will be approved in the House before the election. And if Trump wins forgetaboutit post-election.

Still can't get over Uk is in a fight for their life yet will not conscript 18-25 year olds whether male oir female. Major and high-tech weapon systems don't take and hold dirt, grunts do. And small arms are far less expensive yet deadly as fuq.
