I am fully vaccinated but wear a mask in public and will continue to wear one. It saves on makeup and makes me look younger too with my sunglasses.

Extensive medical research shows that 40 to 50% of people who HAVE COVID-19 show no symptoms; they are asymptomatic. Some of those people are among us, spreading Covid-19, possibly proclaiming 'the Covid hoax' or 'not to be afraid'.

Even people who have been correctly vaccinated can be Covid-19 carriers, can be asymptomatic, and those people who refuse to wear masks and refuse to keep their mouth and nasal secretions to themselves must be shunned, refused service, and more.

Mask it or Casket.

We both wear our masks everywhere we go even though we are fully vaccinated and survived COVID-19. We do live in Texas, so there's that.

I totally agree with you. I'm a 'essential' worker (since March of last year) and I wouldn't dare take my mask off now, even when I've gotten one shot, and am looking forward to the second this week. This virus is far more dangerous than anyone knows (even the scientists and doctors)-so far it's mutated at least 3 times, and is probably going to do that at least 4 more times. We just can't become complacent. It will kill us. So yeah, I'm not looking forward to the next surge, which will probably be in another 3 months. God help us all.

Try living in DeSantistan...Florida.

Trumpsters ignoring masking...Congressmen like Greg Steube, FL-17, ignoring the election results by supporting Trump's Big Lie. And here comes Spring Break with our grandchildren reminding us why old white men in suits send 18-year-olds to war since time began.

The madness that began a year ago chugs on...

One thing about wearing a mask: I didn’t catch the Coronavirus (I’ve now had my first shot)...and I didn’t get my annual-like-clockwork month-long cold, either.

I am 71 and have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I will double mask for the rest of my life. I’m a retired nurse. It’s what I do.

Yes, the CDC guidelines are confusing—but look at what they’re addressing. How many times on TV do you notice people not wearing masks PROPERLY? If you’re going to not cover your nose or leave the sides loose, why bother at all? So, yes, when you go out, even after being vaccinated, wear your mask! There are too many who flaunt the rules. Is a mask stifling ? Yes—that’s filtering. Too uncomfortable? Nanny, nanny, Boo, boo. What a bunch of entitled whiners who lack the morals to place their comfort behind public health.

You mentioned South Dakota...do you recall at the start of the pandemic when a bicycle rider came down with the virus without stopping to talk or touch anyone? This was in NYC where the disease was exploding. It stands out for me because the assessment was that the viral load in the outdoor air was high enough to transmit the virus! That’s crowding in a small area! South Dakota can be grateful for its comparatively scarce population. . .

I bet Texas won’t be so lucky.

Why wear a mask after vaccination?

1. They don’t know how long the vaccine lasts;

2. The vaccine is less effective with certain variants.

Yet, the CDC seems to be worried about a grandparent rebellion (myself included) so they do offer a concession: If your adult children have been diligent and no one in their house has had COVID, then vaccinated grandparents (who also are diligent) can visit those grand kids. ( I mean, what the hell—they send those kids to school, as it is. . . )

I’ve made arrangements to see two grandkids in July. (My daughter & son-in-law are hoping they will have been vaccinated by then...) and when we make this 14-hour trip, we will only stop for gas. We won’t stop to eat...and peeing will require some minor camping gear. (What the hell—we were both in the Army once upon a time ...)

So, keep wearing your mask ...
