I hate to admit that you are no doubt prescient with this article, Lucian. I just now tweeted it to Pelosi and also to the House GOP (not that it would do any good to the latter.) I did that because I wanted that Sedition Caucus to know that we are watching THEM and we'll put the blame squarely on THEM when the murders begin. Why the likes of Boebert, Greene, Gosar, Gaetz and their ilk are still allowed in Congress is beyond me. (I still think Boebert and Greene and/or their staff had something to do with the pipe bombs.)
And now we have 3 dead in high school shooting in Michigan. 8 injured. Sophomore from the school is the suspect in custody!
How did he get this semiautomatic weapon if it was locked up? That’s the question…did the father who bought it the day after Thanksgiving have it locked up! Did the child have emotional problems? 4 days after it’s bought, 3 young people will not graduate, ever marry and have children or fulfill their dreams in life! All because this child got a hold of a semiautomatic weapon that should have been in a locked cabinet with a combination lock. Good God when is this going to stop! It’s not just a gun problem; it’s also a problem of disturbed people taking out their angst on innocent people! They need help to avoid this! But people young or old who do this are in a deep state of mental instability!
Most Americans are not paying much attention to these congressional squabbles right now. Should shooting start, the country will awake and the extremists on all sides will regret it. The republicans already have a reputation as street fighters. Should several Democrats be shot, the Republicans can kiss 2022 goodbye. Democrats must avoid being seen as snobs or cultural supremist.
