What makes me even angrier is that I'm currently reading Seyward Darby's SISTERS IN HATE (2020), about women in the white nationalist movement. The line is rather wavery between women perceived as hardcore alt-right fanatics and "conservative women" who can rationalize appalling male behavior and blame it on women. (Darby's book is excellent, but *not* easy reading. It's unsettling even if you're well aware of the role women have played in, e.g., the anti-suffrage movement, the KKK, and the anti-feminist backlash of the 1960s et seq.)
Amid the blatant misogyny underlying mass shootings in the last several years, let's remember the 1989 murder of 14 women at the Ecole Polytechnique in Montréal. Feminists at the time recognized it as an anti-feminist hate crime, but plenty of others couldn't or wouldn't see or recognize what was right before their eyes. I hope we've made some progress since then, but the resistance of so many to recognizing this as an anti-woman and anti-Asian hate crime makes me wonder.

I remember, several years ago (and I can't remember who wrote this or where), someone suggested a flip side to this incel business; that is, there should be a regular series of posts by men who advocate pre-marital chastity - think GOP politicians and megachurch pastors - called "Saving It." In it each contributor would describe an incident in which they turned down an opportunity to have sex with an attractive woman while they were still single.
