Pew Research came out with a new poll last week using validated voter data from the 2020 election and compared it to polling done after the 2018 and 2016 elections. The news was not good for Republicans.
And the trmpers won’t get vaccinated so the Delta variant can do further damage to the GOP base. Stephen King wouldn’t write this quirky tale of cult love.
I was thinking this myself, Linda, by Trump making social distancing, mask wearing & vaccination subject to political perspectives the red states are now getting the most infections/deaths, (over 200 deaths a day) yet the maskless unvaccinated still gather in large crowds.
I'm hoping that the deaths are all proud Republican voters. There'll be less votes for the Republican criminal organization and that's what will make the country better off.
Today, the WaPo is reporting yet another story that he is suing the big social media companies...again. I refuse to "share" anything he does. I consider it my patriotic duty to shut down the spread of whatever hateful idea he has cooked up to distract from the fact that he is going to find himself broke, possibly in jail, and disdained forever.
To the Trump Republican Party maybe the future isn't a hoax -- it's a prospect so unpleasant they'd rather live in the past when white was right and women and people of color knew their place. And just above them pulling the strings are the Kochs and Mercers and Thiels (oh my!) who'd love to erase the New Deal from our collective memory and let mega-big business run the show. *That* prospect is so unpleasant that I'm going to keep fighting to make the future possible.
Everything the Republicans are doing now, from McConnell's blocking of legislation to states' enactment of voting restrictions to the Supreme Court's upholding of those restrictions to Fox News's dissemination of disinformation, is a desperate rear-guard action to stave off the inevitable.
I've been calling it an "extinction burst" for some time now -- you know, like the tantrum a little kid throws in the grocery store when they can't have the Honey Smacks? My growing concern is that they're fully ready to take the country down with them. OTOH, if they'll just hold their breath till the country turns blue, as in rational and D/democratic, I'm OK with that.
Yes, they are all literally fighting to save the life of a dying patient. The young people are pretty savvy and the GOP knows it. That is probably why they don't want racial history taught.
Eventually the GOP will run out of options and enough of the voters will finally discover the better parties policies are what the American people deserve, the Democratic party.
I didn't mean to imply that there's no danger the Republicans can do a lot of damage in the short run. We do have to work hard to minimize that damage. The best way I can think of is to organize and effect get out the vote campaigns, starting early enough before the next round of elections to help people jump through the hoops they need to jump through, like registering, getting government issued ID, or finding out if they've been purged and re-registering if they have. State governments may try to find ways to thwart or impede such activities, but I can't imagine any way even the present Supreme Court couldn't find it constitutionally protected.
I believe this might be the "real" elephant in the proverbial GTP living room...all those red cap seniors who are refusing vaccinations...all those red cap seniors who attend super spreader rallies and mingle with other unvaccinated red cappers. Somehow, I don't envision them willing OR able to stand in long lines in 2022 or 2024, if they survive Covid or the Delta variant. They'll need to be hooked up to something and wheeled inside the polling precinct - which probably will violate some new GTP "law" being formulated as I write this.
More thinning of the gene pool. They will be responsible for their own mistakes of judgement and it may have a lifetime of lasting suffering. I'm thankful for having been inoculated.

I've a severely disabled neighbor who refers to this as gene pool thinning. I agree.
All good news. Thank you. The best news will be when trump is never in the news. He is detestable.

Any lawyer daring to work for DJT will probably find he won't be paid for his services. That's a fact.
Trump is going to jail.
He will never run in 2024.
It boggles my mind as to why people follow him.
On this planet humans of all colors just want to live a normal life.
I do believe Trump is an AntiChrist.
Why do I think that is because he wants to devide us so we are at each other's throats.
He wants a civil war.
He's like a mad dog who was infected with rabies.
He has caused the downfall of the american empire.
I continue to be reminded by people who believe that DJT will be back in the WH come August. How ignorant can anyone believe such claptrap?

The Republican criminal organization can only continue to exist with lies and cheating. Dishonesty is their Creed.
I fear this is when they are most dangerous. We cannot let up our guard or relax our efforts to restore our democracy.
Truth. The most dangerous people of all are those convinced they have nothing to lose.
Eventually the GOP will run out of options and enough of the voters will finally discover the better parties policies are what the American people deserve, the Democratic party.
True.
And including gerrymandering, how can we overcome all of the Criminal Republican party roadblocks in every Red State.

One of my pals attended the rally in Sarasota last weekend. He and others got drenched, commented how peaceful it was.
No new material from Former, peaceful...basically, a fizzle.
That last line. On every level.
All great news until the cheaters get to use newly passed voting legislation in many of the state houses.
I want to feel hopeful reading these statistics. Living in Kentucky and over 70, I am in a white wilderness slashed red with Trump-y opinions.
Good news, but for 2022, it’s all about turnout and older folks are more reliable voters in off year elections.

Me too. I know a lot of senior Dems like us.
You are not alone.
We seniors aren't as ignorant as the GOP would like.
