I can’t really read Polish, but of course my wife is telling me what she reads in Gazeta Wyborcza, and people fleeing from the attack are already crossing the Polish border. At least for once Kaczynski is not stopping refugees.
The big question is: what's going to happen when Ukrainian soldiers follow civilians into the safety of Poland? What's going to happen when they shoot back at Russians inside Ukraine? What's going to happen when the Russians shoot back and Poles start to die? Poland is a NATO member. They can become involved, by no fault of their own, very, very fast.
I hope that the Ukrainian military stands strong. You have it right, Lucian. Sanctions need to be crippling, not paper tigers. I was the Americas MD at SWIFT in the 1990’s when Russian banks were first allowed on the network. Although it will hurt them if they are cutoff, it is not a death knell.
TVs going to have a tough time reporting this war. They got used to being "imbedded" with US forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iraq again. No imbedding this time.

Absolutely.
Morning show comments, traditional neutrals in Europe might look at NATO membership...thanks, Vlad!
I love seeing LTC (Ret) Vindman on MSNBC, every view reminds me of Traitor Former's cowardly trashing of his career.
I am an Army brat like LKTIV, every breath TFG takes disgusts me.

I appreciate your insights, Lucian, from an informed background. CNN often tries to get ahead of the game in its reporting.
