According to Merriam-Webster, the word came into English usage in 1601 from the Old French “disgusted,” meaning distaste, loathe or dislike, in the sense of giving a bad taste to one’s mouth. I have a visceral reaction to what’s going on: a punch to the gut, an ache in my heart, way beyond the bad taste in my mouth.
OK, I'm giving in to gallows humor, but this column cracked me up, probably because it was such a relief to have my memory of all the disgusting revelations of the last few days confirmed.

There definitely are a huge amount of bad things in this country, sadly..but there is an overwhelming majority of good things.
The thing is, how do we do the American thing and apply the good abilities to fix the bad things.
I know there are smarter people than me out there.
